Scooter board as a gift.
Appropriate for ages ranging from approximately preschool age and up
⢠A scooter can be used both indoors and outdoors
⢠Can be used for racing, riding alone, or within an obstacle course
⢠A scooter board is good for:
o Core, lower body, and upper body strengthening- using in different positions can strengthen different areas (ie sitting strengthens postural muscles and legs, on the belly strengthens back muscles and arm muscles)
o Coordinating both sides of the body- pulling a rope hand over hand, alternating hands or feet to pull forward
o Heavy work/proprioceptive input- requires working hard and deep pressure of the scooter can be calming to the muscles
o Joint stabilization- trunk, hip, and shoulder stabilizing muscles have to work hard in various positions
