Em is a teenager who promised herself she would never be adopted after a failed adoption had her placed back in foster care. But things turned a corner when she was referred to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program and met her recruiter at Lund, Macie. Macie and Em’s foster-turned-adoptive mom, Marissa, helped her open her heart to a family. Em was adopted at age 15.

Since being adopted Em has experienced some amazing firsts like her first trip to Universal, first trip to Europe, and getting her license and buying her first car. With the support of a permanent family, so much is possible!

We're excited to be screening Recovering Loudly at Recovery Day 2026!

One of the most powerful moments of Recovery Day 2026 will be a shared screening of Recovering Loudly - a film project by Lund.

This film lifts up stories of resilience, harm reduction, parenting, healing, and survival — voices that deserve to be seen and heard.

We’ll be watching together.
We’ll be reflecting together.
And we’ll be asking what it really means to support recovery in all its forms.

🎬 More details coming soon. See you on 2/11/26!
