🦠 Flu season is here—quick medication tip 🦠

Many popular “decongestant” cold medicines contain phenylephrine, but when taken by mouth, it doesn’t effectively absorb into the bloodstream—so it doesn’t relieve congestion like you’d expect.

✅ What works better?
• Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) — available behind the pharmacy counter and more effective for congestion
⚠️ Not recommended if you have high blood pressure, as it can raise BP

✅ If you do have high blood pressure:
• Coricidin is a safer alternative designed for patients with hypertension

If you’re not feeling well, come see us. We’ll help figure out what’s going on and get you treated appropriately.
