Today was the last day our graduate student intern was with us! The kids have loved working with her this summer. She will be missed! It was a wonderful learning experience for all, and we wish her the very best as she continues on her way to becoming an SLP! 😄☀️👩‍🎓

It was an exciting day for this little one - she graduated from speech therapy! 🎉 We are so proud of her. 😄 It was a little bittersweet for me, as she was my first client when I opened last fall! ☀️

In other news, we are cruising right along with our summer schedule (which is full!), and it’s been so exciting to watch kids make great progress towards their goals! 😄

It’s an exciting week at Sunshine Speech & Language Therapy - our graduate student intern from GVSU has joined us! She’ll be learning with us throughout the summer, and we’re so happy to have her along! ☀️

May is Better Speech & Hearing Month! We’re celebrating by Colleen becoming a PROMPT-trained therapist! ☀️

This is an intensive training she finished over the past few months that can help a variety of children with speech disorders by providing oral muscular cues for the child to learn from. ☀️

Colleen had a very generous donor sponsor this training, whom she can’t thank enough! It will be certain to help her improve the speech & well-being of many clients as well as her own daughter. ☀️

One of the many perks of an in-home office is having therapy material “testers” on site! 😄

They gave this treasure-hunt game 5/5 stars. So did Mom 😉. We’ll be using it a lot with our preschool-aged kiddos! ☀️

We have a new program available at Sunshine Speech & Language Therapy! ☀️ It is called Foundation in Sounds, and is a program designed to help students with discrimination, memory, and sequence of sounds. 🗣
This program is designed for students who need some foundational practice with these skills, or who aren’t yet ready for the Barton Reading & Spelling program. ☀️

Peppermint play-dough + cookie cutters + little plastic lights have been a favorite activity around here this week! (both for therapy & kids at home! 😊) 🎄
