🔬 Our spotlight today shines on the amazing Ms. Shannon Gilliam! 💛🌟

Ms. Shannon brings science to life in the best way — with curiosity, creativity, and a whole lot of fun! From experiments that spark excitement to lessons that make learning hands-on and engaging, she inspires our participants to explore the “why” and “how” of the world around them. 🌎💫

This amazing duo keeps our Bailey Center garden blooming — and our participants learning — through their hands-on garden classes and all the care they put into maintaining our outdoor space. From planting and watering to teaching patience, teamwork, and growth, they help our participants connect with nature in the most meaningful way. 🌱🌼

We are so thankful for Bill and Michelle’s hard work, dedication, and the heart they pour into every seed they plant. You’ve truly helped our garden — and our community — grow beyond boundaries! 💚

Each month, Mrs. Candi fills our Art Classes with color, imagination, and encouragement. She donates her time and talent to help our participants explore their creativity and express themselves in the most beautiful ways — one paint stroke, glue stick, and masterpiece at a time. 🌈✨

We are so grateful for her dedication, kindness, and the joy she brings into The Bailey Center every time she walks through the door. Thank you, Mrs. Candi, for helping our participants see the art in everything! 💛

🌟 Going Beyond: People Who Make It Happen 🌟
Today’s spotlight shines a little brighter… because it’s Kylie’s birthday. 🎉💛

Kylie goes above and beyond at every single program, pouring her whole heart into helping our participants. She shows up with purpose, passion, and a steady drive to push past her own boundaries — a reminder to all of us of what real dedication looks like.

On a personal note: I absolutely couldn’t do this without her. Her openess to all my craz ideas, her laugh when I’m doing something she probably thinks is crazy. Kylie is my walking reminder, my memory bank, my “hey, don’t forget this” voice — and I mean that in the best possible way. Her insight shapes our ideas, our programs, and the way we serve families. She makes us better.

She’s not just an advocate for herself, she’s an advocate for our Center. Kylie greets every person who walks through our doors with warmth, kindness, and genuine care — which is exactly who we strive to be.

Kylie, thank you for being a light to our participants, a rock for me, and a huge part of what makes our Bailey Center family shine.

🎉 What’s Happening This Week at The Bailey Center! 🎉

We’ve got a fun week lined up, and we can’t wait to see everyone!

💃 Tuesday, 5:30–6:30 PM – Get ready to move and groove at Dance Class! Come join us for an evening full of rhythm, smiles, and plenty of fun for all ages.

💡 Thursday, 5:00–6:30 PM – Words of Light: Caregivers Connection. This evening is all about encouragement and support for our caregivers — a chance to relax, share, and refocus with others who understand the journey.

✨ If you need to bring your child, no worries — we’ll have an activity ready to keep them engaged while you take a moment for yourself.

🌈 Friday, 1:00–2:00 PM – Pre-K Play Patch is open! Bring your littles for sensory play, exploration, and lots of giggles in our playful space.

🏀 Saturday, 10:00 AM – Buddy Ball Basketball! Hit the court with your buddies for a morning of teamwork, fun, and inclusion — because everyone deserves their shot to shine!

🎉 Great News for Virginia Families! 🎉
Our 2025 legislative work is paying off! Senate Bill 1293 that I carried this year is now law and The Virginia Department of Health Professions is now offering all licensed healthcare practitioners to pursue comprehensive autism training as a part of their continuing education.

Thanks to Virginia Code § 54.1-2409.6, which we championed this session, healthcare providers across the Commonwealth will be better equipped to serve children on the autism spectrum with:
✅ Improved communication strategies
✅ Sensory-friendly practices
✅ Better patient experiences

This is what happens when we work together to make a real difference for Virginia's children and families! 💙
