Hello supporters,
COVID -19 reports are on the rise. The flu season is here. Our seniors are being isolated in the institution and in the home. How are they doing? Are they depressed? Have they given up? They haven't been able to "touch" their loved ones in at least 7 months if they are living in a nursing home. How are they doing? Do they understand what is happening in the world? Here is a temporary solution: 1) Contact the nursing home administration to establish "Zoom" calls and times. 2) Discuss the potentials of a safe "reopen" plan; perhaps limiting visits to one area with a small group at one time with the ability to socially distance. 3) Contact the county in which the nursing home resides for up to date COVID 19 isolation protocols for nursing homes in that county. 4)Pray!
Families tell how the social isolation of being locked down in long-term care during COVID has negatively effected resident's physical and mental health.
