Isn’t it fascinating what we continue to learn about food and nutrition? This is something I didn’t know about until I started studying functional nutrition. Things like this should be more widely known so we can make better decisions about the foods we eat. Cassia cinnamon is the most common form found in the grocery store but it's also higher in coumarin. Coumarin in high amounts may tax the liver in some people, especially if used daily or combined with other liver stressors. Cinnamon has many medicinal applications, but it's important to know which type of you're taking or recommending! 🙃
