🚨 Breaking Health News

A new report highlighted by Medical News Today suggests that the source and age of drinking water may influence the risk of Parkinson’s disease.

Researchers found that people whose drinking water comes from newer groundwater sources may have a higher risk of Parkinson’s compared with those drinking older groundwater that has been naturally filtered over thousands of years. This may be because newer water is more likely to be exposed to modern environmental pollutants or contaminants.

💡 What this means:
Environmental factors like water quality, pollution, and chemical exposure may be important pieces of the puzzle in understanding brain health.

New research highlighted by Medical News Today suggests that estrogen may play a protective role against high blood pressure before menopause.

During Menopause, estrogen levels decline — and this drop may help explain why women’s risk of Hypertension increases after menopause. Researchers believe estrogen may support healthy blood vessels and help regulate blood pressure earlier in life.

💡 This highlights why monitoring blood pressure, hormones, and cardiovascular health becomes increasingly important for women approaching or going through menopause.

Sore throat, fever, painful swallowing, or swollen glands? 👀 It could be more than “just a cold.”

A throat culture is a simple in-house test we perform to check for bacterial infections like strep. While many sore throats are viral and do not need antibiotics, a throat culture helps us confirm when bacteria are the cause — so you receive the right treatment.

Why it matters:
✔️ Prevents unnecessary antibiotics
✔️ Helps reduce complications
✔️ Provides accurate diagnosis
✔️ Quick and done right here in clinic

If you or your child has persistent throat pain, white patches on the tonsils, fever, or swollen lymph nodes — don’t wait it out. Let’s test and treat appropriately.

Common symptoms include:

Most cases are viral — which means antibiotics may not always be needed 👀 That’s why proper evaluation is important!
