Kids, work, money, your body, your relationship status: your business. Boundaries are for your protection, not their comfort.

Boundary tip: before you show up, decide what you are not talking about and one line you will use every time someone pushes it, then go back to enjoying your holiday.

If the convo turns messy redirect to the food or step outside.

Thanksgiving is coming and a lot of yall already trying to avoid the drama, the tension, and the same old family discomfort 🍂
You do not have to sit in rooms that leave you tense confused or uncomfortable.

Choosing gratitude sometimes means protecting your peace first 💛

It can look like:
✨ leaving when the energy changes
✨ saying no I am not comfortable with that
✨ not showing up where you are not supported or wanted
✨ setting your expectations before you walk in so you do not walk out drained

Protect your peace this season. Gratitude starts with you 🤍

Survival Mode Part 3
Numb feels safer than feeling everything.
When life stays heavy too long your body learns to shut the volume down so you can keep moving.

You start convincing yourself you’re fine because nothing hurts.
When really nothing hurts because you turned the switch off just to survive.

Survival mode will have you living in a burning house and calling it a happy home🔥
You stop smelling the smoke.
You stop noticing the heat.
Chaos becomes familiar.

Numb kept you safe.
But it also kept you stuck.

And the moment you start breathing again every feeling you avoided shows up at the door like: “We’re still here.”

That’s the part people don’t talk about.
Healing is learning how to feel without drowning.
Therapy helps you make room for that. 💜

Survival Mode Part 2: This is what survival mode sounds like.
You explain the whole story.
You explain it again.
You explain the part nobody even asked for.
Not because you want to but because somewhere in your life being misunderstood felt dangerous.
So you learned to give the full picture before anybody paints their own version.
You learned to make yourself clear so you don’t get blamed later.
You learned to break everything down because peace never came without proving your intentions first.

Survival trains you to manage the room instead of being in it
To stay two steps ahead so you don’t get caught in the crossfire of someone else’s reaction.

Part 3 is on the way.

Survival mode shows up when life feels unstable.
Money is funny 💸
Families are suffering
Grocery prices are disrespectful 🛒
The world keeps throwing mess nobody asked for.
When you are surviving you start trying to prevent the next threat before it even happens.
Your body stays alert.
Sleep is restless 😴
All while you move through today carrying yesterday on your back.

If you cannot slow down
If you feel like everything will fall apart if you do
This is what surviving taught you.

To get out of survival mode start with a sleep routine.
I challenge you to turn off your devices at least fifteen minutes before bed for a more restful night 🌙

Peace takes practice when survival tells you to stay ready 💜
