It has been brought to our attention that there is some misinformation going around that our beautiful mother passed from COVID-19. This is incorrect and she passed from liver failure due to a rare bone marrow cancer called Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Essential Thrombocythemia (JAK2+). If you have questions about this please ask, we are willing to answer questions you may have to the best of our ability💜🤍

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, mentor and hero Salome Fo’ou Jansson passed away comfortably surrounded by her family on July 16, 2022. Salome (Sal) spent the final weeks of her life in a valiant fight with Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Essential Thrombocythemia (JAK2+). Throughout this chapter of her life she exemplified all that is regal. As her family, there are no words to express the shock and grief felt by the loss of our beloved Matriarch, but we take comfort in knowing that she endured to the end and is now released from this earthly existence.

Sal was born February, 10 1953 in Auckland, New Zealand to Walter Phillip Wolfgramm and Emeline Niu Wolfgramm, as the oldest of eleven children. In the Fall of 1961, when Sal was 8 years old, the family immigrated to the United States and landed in the Salt Lake valley. Sal is an alumna of Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah.

Sal loved her Polynesian heritage and enjoyed sharing that heritage with anyone and everyone, especially through dancing. Sal met her husband Evan Lindsay Jansson while dancing at The Polynesian restaurant in Salt Lake City. They were married for eternity on April 2, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Sal was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she volunteered and served in many different ways. Her favorite was serving the young children in the nursery.

Sal had a long and successful career serving the community in various roles including Youth Parole Board as well as local, state and national PTA. Sal believed it took a village to raise a child and was a living example of that belief. Sal was the epitome of Christ like love and would help anyone at any time, regardless of the circumstance. She developed many diverse and long lasting friendships, and is highly respected by the many she associated with, mentored and served in her community.

Sal was a powerful tool for God. She was blessed with many spiritual gifts and used them to bless the lives of those around her. She brought comfort in times of grief and peace in times of uncertainty. She continues to use her gifts to bless others on both sides of the veil.

Sal is survived by her husband Evan and six children, Chrystina, Weston (Laura), Brock (Zoey), Mahina (Brady), Brianna (Coltin), Maile; and fourteen grandchildren, Bethany, Dominic, Tanner, Zeke, Fetia, Ariinui, Vaiora, Emeline, Dax, Evan, Nia, Watson, Ambrose and Hazel as well as many nieces and nephews who adore their Aunt Sal.

Sal was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emeline as well as her sisters Pisileni (Lanie), Julianne (Julie), Christal.

We are truly blessed by the light that shined on us all during her earthly life. We know that we will see her again!
