Here at Live Well Counseling, we offer what is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is a type of psychotherapy that is focused on improving psychological flexibility and a persons well-being. We try and help people to accept what is being shown to them and have them not judge or try to avoid what is happening. It allows people to control their emotions to any type of situation. A good way to practice ACT is mindfulness. Mindfulness allows for a person to think about what is happening without feeling a certain emotion towards the action. ACT is proven to help benefit:
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Obsessive-Compulsion Disorder
-Substance Use Disorders
-Chronic Pain
If you are experiencing any of these disorders, then give us a call at (801)896-8133 to set up an appointment.
