It is National Funeral Director day and we want to celebrate our wonderful funeral directors. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to the families they serve. A funeral director has to be patient, kind, organized and be able to show empathy in every situation. We are so lucky to have been blessed with the best here at Jenkins-Soffe. We want to thank both the funeral directors as well as the their families for the many sacrifices they make in order to do this job. We hope they know the difference they make and the burdens they lighten for so many in our community. Happy National Funeral Director Day!

History of Jenkins-Soffe

Mr. George A. Jenkins founded Jenkins Mortuary in 1915 with the phone number of 222, and was available to families 24 hours a day. Mr. Jenkins offered both horse-drawn and automobile hearses in the early years. His son-in-law, Vaughn C. Soffe, joined the business in 1938; thus, the blended name of Jenkins-Soffe. Mr. Soffe passed away in December 2004, but his strong commitment to family service lives on with his sons and grandsons.

Now, with over 100 years of experience and service to the communities of Utah, coupled with five generations of family dedication, the name Jenkins-Soffe represents tradition, commitment to the community, and personalized service to individuals and families. Our Salt Lake central valley and south valley locations, combined with our comprehensive experience in all areas of funeral service, allow those we serve affordable options in arranging services for loved ones.
