Proud to Announce Dr. Davis and Dr. Bird and the Vision Lock Team Celebrated Our First Round of Adjustments for Our Cataract Light Adjustable Lens Patients!!!!!
The Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is a cutting-edge intraocular lens that allows your surgeon to adjust the focus of your lens after cataract surgery. Unlike traditional IOLs, which are implanted and remain fixed in place, the LAL can be fine-tuned using light treatments, giving you the ability to achieve a more customized visual outcome.
Here’s how it works:
Cataract Surgery: The first step is the removal of the cataract and the placement of the Light Adjustable Lens inside the eye. This is very similar to a traditional cataract surgery.
Post-Operative Adjustment: After your eye has healed, the LAL can be adjusted using a special UV light treatment. This process is non-invasive and involves precisely targeted light to adjust the lens shape for optimal vision correction.
Lock-In Procedure: After appropriate adjustments are made based on your lifestyle the LAL is locked-in with the UV light so that it becomes permanent.
The ability to make adjustments after surgery is a game-changer, allowing for a higher degree of precision in achieving the best possible visual outcome.
