Why Scrolling is Hurting You: Choose Reading Instead

I talk about how mindless scrolling on your phone for hours is harmful, especially for those struggling with anxiety. I explain why reading—whether through a Kindle app or physical books—is a much better alternative. Reading provides a sense of accomplishment and engages your brain, while scrolling only chases dopamine hits without any real benefit. I encourage you to prioritize reading as a way to build mental strength, learn new concepts and vocabulary, and actually feel good about how you spend your time.

Saturday 11/8 from 5-8pm we are hosting our annual Reunion and Fundraiser!
Please mark the date and share with whoever you think would be interested, everyone is welcome!

Although it is marketed as a reunion, this is open to everyone! We had a great turnout last year and want to keep it rolling. Thank you to everyone who has contributed or participated in what we have going on, we’ve been able to help a lot of people and have built something pretty special.

We look forward to seeing all of you!

This is our SOAR Buffalo Program—our kids’ program for teens who are struggling with w**d, other substances, or just having a hard time with their behavior. It’s been one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever done.

A huge part of the program is getting them out into nature. Rivers. Mountains. No phones. Just scenery, water, and stillness. We call it Present Moment Protection. We teach these kids how to sit with themselves. No distractions. No thoughts. Just breathe, look around, and be where their feet are. That’s something most adults still don’t know how to do.

We also teach them how to lift weights. There’s something powerful about getting strong—physically, emotionally, spiritually. These are just a few clips of us taking them out to the river, lifting in the gym, and showing them what it looks like to live a different way.
