Jefferson's Ferry is a Life Plan Community, with independent residential living for adults age 62 or better, providing services and amenities, and long-term care on-site, at no additional cost (should it be needed). Residents live in their own apartments or cottages, decorated with their own furnishings and cherished possessions.

We are very proud to share that Anthony Comerford, our Vice President of Health Services, has officially graduated from the prestigious Larry Minnix Leadership Academy by LeadingAge!

This year-long program is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in aging services through deep self-reflection, relationship-building, and real-world application. Throughout his time in the Academy, Anthony immersed himself in leadership development, engaged in thoughtful dialogue with seasoned professionals, visited innovative aging-service settings across the country, and completed an “Action Learning” project that put his growing expertise into practice.

Anthony’s graduation represents more than a personal milestone; it is a meaningful achievement for the entire Jefferson’s Ferry community. His strengthened leadership will continue to drive compassionate, forward-thinking care for all those we serve.

We are very excited to announce that today we kicked off Phase II of our Journey Toward Renewal with the groundbreaking of the Independent Living North Wing addition! Thank you to the many people who have made this possible including our residents, staff, board members, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Daniel Panico ,Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich, M&T Bank, and Greystone Communities. We look forward to working together with The Kulka Group in bringing this expansion to fruition!

What were you doing between September, 1964 and June, 1968? These five Jefferson's Ferry residents were all doing the same thing……..getting their college degrees at SUNY Stony Brook.

Two of them (Rick and Helene) shared the same major of Political Science and three (Jane, Mark, Rick) lived in the same dorm. Joy was a commuter, so her times on campus were different from the rest. The funny thing is that none of them recall meeting or sharing classes with any of the others! They must have; Stony Brook was quite a small school then. Somehow, they all ended up living at Jefferson's Ferry.

Friendships among the five have been formed over lively dinner conversations, sharing memories of a mud-filled campus, classes, concerts, professors, fellow students, and, of course, protests. Not everyone remembers things exactly the same way, but yet they share the common bond of being only the second graduating class who attended their full four years at Stony Brook.

Jefferson’s Ferry has a way of bringing people together—sometimes decades after their stories first began.

Our residents participated in a sing-along of some timeless classics! Which was followed up by "the birds and the bee's happy hour" to benefit the JF meadows! 🐦🐝🥂

We are delighted to announce that we recently opened a brand-new lobby and modern common areas in the Vincent Bove Health Center for our residents to enjoy! 🌞✨

The common areas are great for leisure or participating in many of the activities that are organized by our recreation team. The areas feature a new den that has held activities such as exercise class, and a Great Room for events, which even hosted a show put on by The Jazz Loft. Thank you to all who made this possible!

We had so much fun this Halloween! 👻🎃

Residents and employees showed off their best costumes at our annual Halloween party. Awards were given out in categories such as spookiest, most creative, best singular, and group costumes!
