We’re proud to co-sponsor the inaugural South Coast Caring Force Rally on May 1 at White's of Westport. We will bring together providers, frontline professionals, and advocates from across the region.
As part of the Providers’ Council, The Caring Force is dedicated exclusively to workforce advocacy, fighting for fair rates, loan repayment, professional recognition, and a sustainable human services workforce.
Advocacy is core to our mission. The voices of those who provide and receive care matter, and this rally is a chance to raise awareness and push for livable wages and policies that value care in our communities.

Join us and be part of a growing movement rooted in strength, solidarity, and respect for our essential workforce!

Our President & CEO, Katie Driscoll and Community Service Director, Gretchen Arvanitopoulos joined more than 900 advocates from across the nation, including over 55 advocates from Massachusetts at the 2026 Disability Policy Seminar in Washington, DC this week. The group met on Capitol Hill and took part in a powerful rally to make one message clear: the importance of protecting Medicaid and home and community‑based services, along with ensuring strong funding for disability education and supports. Disability rights are human rights, and decisions made at the federal level directly impact the people and families we serve.

We were in attendance at this year’s DDS Direct Care Recognition Ceremony, hosted by the Cape Cod Citizen Advisory Board on March 13. Direct support professionals were recognized together with the people they serve. The event highlighted personal achievements of participants and the staff dedication that empowered them. Legislative representatives, families, providers, and DDS leadership, including the Commissioner, gathered to celebrate the impact of high‑quality direct care across Cape Cod. We extend our sincere congratulations to all who were recognized.

We were proud to continue our Family Advocacy and Engagement series last night, March 18th, featuring Marie Younger Blackburn . Through her session, “A Parent’s Journey to Inclusion," Marie detailed her journey with her son Chase, who is a young man with Down Syndrome. Over the course of Chase’s life, she learned the importance of encouraging and supporting authentic opportunities for her son to develop friendships and relationships in his community.
“When you invite people in, it’s a reflection of what you want to see in the world,” she said.
We are grateful to Marie for being a true Community Connector and sharing the powerful role families play in building inclusive communities and reminding us how important it is to listen, learn, and lead with heart. Her impact is exactly what the movement celebrates.

Join us Tuesday, March 24 at the First Congregational Church in Fall River for Accessible Yoga for All! This FREE session is a perfect way to reduce stress and make new connections with us. Special thanks to our friends Anthony F. Cordeiro Charitable Foundation Inc. and The Heron Educational Center for the Human Spirit for making these sessions possible.

When Liam became a participant at Community Connections in Wareham in 2022, he was initially shy and reserved. Through his dedication and the support of his staff, Liam has developed his confidence, independence, and leadership skills, supporting greater independence in his life and community. His progress is clear both inside and outside his program, as he leads an art group with Community Connections and attends the gym three times a week. Liam’s journey reflects our work in action: empowering participants with the skills, confidence, and support they need to thrive in their communities. Well done, Liam!
