Earlier this month, Community Connections was honored to welcome a group of students from Interior Architecture + Design at UMass Dartmouth to our Hartwell Day Program.
The students toured our space, connected with participants and staff, and learned firsthand about the importance of accessible, person‑centered design. The people we support also shared their own creative ideas and insights on future design concepts that promote independence, valued roles, and shared community.
Experiences like this reflect our commitment to being innovative, forward‑thinking, and true Community Connectors—bringing people together and learning alongside others who share our vision for inclusive environments. We are proud of our growing partnership with UMass Dartmouth and look forward to continued collaboration with Professor Rose Mary Botti‑Salitsky and her class.

After four decades of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment, we celebrate the retirement of Joe Krajewski.
Joe’s impact on Community Connections and on the countless lives he has touched cannot be measured. From his early days in employment services to his role as Chief Operating Officer, he has led with integrity, heart, and a deep belief in inclusion and opportunity for all.
Joe's daily work with Community Connections was the embodiment of our mission. He truly is a Community Connector.
Thank you, Joe, for everything you have given to this organization and the people we serve. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter.

Today, April 10, we were thrilled to host the Plymouth Fire Department at our Plymouth DayHab. The firefighters discussed fire safety, their work in the community, and answered questions from our participants before taking the group outside to see a fire truck and fire safety equipment. Across our agency, we are grateful for our ongoing partnerships with local emergency service departments. These professionals are true Community Connectors, they provide critical services and education to the people we serve. Thanks to their dedication, our participants receive important information to protect themselves and others in emergencies.

We’re proud to co-sponsor the inaugural South Coast Caring Force Rally on May 1 at White's of Westport. We will bring together providers, frontline professionals, and advocates from across the region.
As part of the Providers’ Council, The Caring Force is dedicated exclusively to workforce advocacy, fighting for fair rates, loan repayment, professional recognition, and a sustainable human services workforce.
Advocacy is core to our mission. The voices of those who provide and receive care matter, and this rally is a chance to raise awareness and push for livable wages and policies that value care in our communities.

Join us and be part of a growing movement rooted in strength, solidarity, and respect for our essential workforce!

Our President & CEO, Katie Driscoll and Community Service Director, Gretchen Arvanitopoulos joined more than 900 advocates from across the nation, including over 55 advocates from Massachusetts at the 2026 Disability Policy Seminar in Washington, DC this week. The group met on Capitol Hill and took part in a powerful rally to make one message clear: the importance of protecting Medicaid and home and community‑based services, along with ensuring strong funding for disability education and supports. Disability rights are human rights, and decisions made at the federal level directly impact the people and families we serve.
