The response to the St. Patrick’s CPR class has been incredible, but many of you mentioned that weekend classes work better for your schedule.

So I’ve opened two additional opportunities this week!

❤️ Teen Heartsaver CPR Class
📅 Friday Morning

🍀 Hometown Hero CPR Class (Adults & Teens Welcome)

I’m hosting a Heartsaver CPR & AED class this Tuesday and currently have one student registered. I need at least 4 participants in order to hold the class.

If you’ve been thinking about learning CPR for your family, workplace, or babysitting jobs, this is a great opportunity to get trained and certified!

This class covers:
✔️ Adult CPR
✔️ AED use
✔️ Choking relief
✔️ American Heart Association 2-year certification

📍 Location: DeSoto Arts Council – Hernando

This class is open to adults and teens who want to learn CPR and lifesaving skills.

📍 Location:
DeSoto Arts Council Building
Hernando, MS

⏰ Two class times available:
• 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM

A Coach that learned CPR just a WEEK before this happened was able to SAVE A LIFE.
What we teach here at Hometown Hero CPR is more than hands in a manikin. It’s training MINDS and HANDS how to SAVE A LIFE. ❤️

Parents of TEENS (and Pre-Teens!) in DeSoto County — it’s that time of year again!

Every spring and early summer I offer Teen Heartsaver CPR & AED classes through Hometown Hero CPR to help teens (and pre-teens) prepare for summer babysitting jobs and helping care for younger siblings during the summer months.

This hands-on class teaches them how to:

✔ Perform CPR for adults, children, and infants
❤️ Use an AED
✔ Help someone who is choking
❤️ Respond calmly and confidently in an emergency

These classes are ALWAYS a favorite because they give teens real life-saving skills and confidence before taking on babysitting responsibilities.

Last week I had the privilege of teaching a Heartsaver CPR AED certification class to an incredible group of HOMESCHOOL students. 💙

Ages 13–17.
Future babysitters.
Older siblings who help care for younger brothers and sisters.
YOUNG LEADERS in the making.

And let me just say this clearly:

Homeschool students have JUST AS MUCH potential as any other students in our community to learn, lead, and step up when it matters most.

In fact, I was genuinely impressed by their ability to critically think through hands-on emergency scenarios. When we shifted from instruction to real-life simulations, several of them rose to the challenge with calm focus and strong decision-making skills.

That kind of confidence isn’t accidental. It’s built through intentional learning and HANDS-ON practice.

These students didn’t just earn a certification card, they gained LIFE-SAVING SKILLS that could MAKE A DIFFERENCE at home, at church, at a summer babysitting job, or anywhere an emergency happens.

I love partnering with homeschool families who value practical life skills alongside academics. Preparing teens to be capable and confident in emergencies is one of the greatest investments we can make in our community.

So proud of this group of future Hometown Heroes. ❤️

❤️🤍💙 Future Hometown Heroes in the making! ❤️🤍💙

Yesterday afternoon I had the absolute BEST time teaching a CPR class for a group of amazing young ladies from Lewisburg High School!

Let me just say… this age group is such a JOY to teach. 🥹

They ask thoughtful questions.
They genuinely want to understand the “why.”
And most of all - they are willing to push past their nerves and practice anyway. 💙❤️

Watching them go from a little hesitant… to confidently performing high-quality CPR and choking relief? That never gets old. 🙌

These SKILLS MATTER - not just “someday,” but right now.

High school students who are CPR, AED & First Aid certified:
✔️ Stand out when applying for babysitting jobs
✔️ Feel confident caring for younger siblings
✔️ Are prepared for summer camps, church nurseries, and childcare positions
✔️ Become leaders among their peers

There is something so powerful about a young person choosing to be prepared to save a life.

I am so proud of each of these girls for stepping up and becoming Future Hometown Heroes. 💙

✨ A Class I’ll Never Forget ✨

Last week I had the privilege of teaching CPR to the Mother’s Day Out team at Southpoint Church here in DeSoto county MS - a group that reminded me exactly WHY I do what I do.

Sure, certifications are important for work requirements. But what stood out in this class were the personal testimonies that went far beyond a card in their wallet.

💙 One woman shared how she once revived a choking child using these very techniques that we teach at Hometown Hero CPR .

💙 Another, who had been through trauma with her teen, that nearly didn’t come due to fear. But by the end, she left with peace and confidence.

💙 And then—there was a couple from the churh who asked to join in. They weren’t employees of the program, but they had their own reason for learning. The wife had performed CPR and called 911 to save her husband’s life… not once, but TWICE!

Moments like these remind me that CPR training is more than just a class—it’s about equipping our community with hope, peace of mind, and life-saving skills.

Thank you, Southpoint Church Mother’s Day Out for allowing me to be a part of your story again. 🫶

What an amazing group we had this weekend at Hometown Hero CPR in DeSoto!💙❤️

❤️💙Three families from the same neighborhood came together to learn CPR, AED skills, and emergency skills — because keeping each other safe is what true COMMUNITY is all about.

And we can’t forget Mr. Doug, a local school bus driver, who joined us to refresh his CPR skills and stay ready for the kids he serves every day. 🚍👏

This is exactly why we do what we do—empowering everyday HEROES right here in DeSoto County. 💪🏽
