✨ A Class I’ll Never Forget ✨

Last week I had the privilege of teaching CPR to the Mother’s Day Out team at Southpoint Church here in DeSoto county MS - a group that reminded me exactly WHY I do what I do.

Sure, certifications are important for work requirements. But what stood out in this class were the personal testimonies that went far beyond a card in their wallet.

💙 One woman shared how she once revived a choking child using these very techniques that we teach at Hometown Hero CPR .

💙 Another, who had been through trauma with her teen, that nearly didn’t come due to fear. But by the end, she left with peace and confidence.

💙 And then—there was a couple from the churh who asked to join in. They weren’t employees of the program, but they had their own reason for learning. The wife had performed CPR and called 911 to save her husband’s life… not once, but TWICE!

Moments like these remind me that CPR training is more than just a class—it’s about equipping our community with hope, peace of mind, and life-saving skills.

Thank you, Southpoint Church Mother’s Day Out for allowing me to be a part of your story again. 🫶

What an amazing group we had this weekend at Hometown Hero CPR in DeSoto!💙❤️

❤️💙Three families from the same neighborhood came together to learn CPR, AED skills, and emergency skills — because keeping each other safe is what true COMMUNITY is all about.

And we can’t forget Mr. Doug, a local school bus driver, who joined us to refresh his CPR skills and stay ready for the kids he serves every day. 🚍👏

This is exactly why we do what we do—empowering everyday HEROES right here in DeSoto County. 💪🏽

Yesterday’s class was so special!

Melanie reached out wanting her family trained in CPR and emergency response skills, but she didn’t stop there. She invited her neighbors, and before we knew it, two other families from her neighborhood came together to learn lifesaving skills side by side. 🙌

And to make it even better, Mr. Doug — a local school bus driver — joined in for his CPR recertification. 🚍👏 What an incredible reminder that HEROES come from every corner of our community!

This class represents exactly what Hometown Hero CPR is all about: NEIGHBORS looking out for neighbors, FAMILIES protecting families, and our COMMUNITY stepping up to be prepared when it matters most.

THIS Sunday, I’m partnering with Southern Pediatric Therapy to teach life-saving skills like CPR and first aid skills to parents and caregivers of children with special needs. It’s a relaxed, hands-on class that equips you with the confidence to act fast when it matters most.
