Brenda Jean McDade

Brenda Jean McDade, lovingly known as "Crazy Mawmaw," was a vibrant spirit who brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Born on February 19, 1955, in the heart of Missouri, her life was a beautiful journey colored by humor, love, and an indomitable zest for life. Brenda passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Collierville, TN, surrounded by the warmth of her beloved family.

Brenda was a fun-loving and goofy soul, always seeking to bring smiles to those around her. Her love for her daughters, Tammi Zyla (Richard) and Christina Dye (Hopper), was as fierce as it was nurturing, making them her proudest accomplishments. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren—Nolan, Ryan, Breanna, Hunter, Robbie, Joey—and delighted in the laughter of her great-grandchildren, Rowan, Falan, River, and Emersyn. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and Brenda's eyes sparkled with joy during family gatherings, where her playful spirit truly shined.

An avid lover of science, Brenda's passion extended beyond her family. She had an insatiable curiosity that led her to gift her body to Genesis Whole Body Donation, allowing her legacy to support medical research and help future generations. This final act of generosity reflected her deep-seated belief in the importance of knowledge and healing, an extension of the love she carried for her own family and for life itself.

Brenda found solace in crossword puzzles and the pages of the books she adored. These hobbies not only entertained her but also continually nourished her inquisitive mind.

She now joins her beloved parents, George and Jean Stocke, her husband, Jerry McDade, her brother, George Stocke Jr., and her dearly departed daughter, Christina Dye. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving family and friends, who are left to cherish the laughter, love, and warmth she instilled in their lives.

Brenda's legacy is one of joy, curiosity, and an unyielding love for family. As her family and friends reflect on the time they had with her, they remember not just the tears they shed in her absence but the laughter and joy that defined her life—a true celebration of a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in every shared story and cherished memory.

Marilyn Jean Peck

Marilyn Jean Peck, lovingly known as "Momma", "Grandma," passed away on November 3, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 88. Born on July 13, 1937, in Pennsylvania, Marilyn was a beacon of love and warmth, dedicated to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout her life.

Marilyn's heart was as vibrant as her personality. She had a unique blend of quirkiness, sarcastic humor, and a touch of undercover bougieness, which brought joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. Her sense of humor was infectious; she could light up a room with laughter. With an unmistakable passive-aggressive streak, she often brightened the days of those around her with her sharp wit and charm.

Marilyn took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother. Her accomplishments were not marked by accolades or trophies but rather by the love she instilled in her family. She was particularly fond of her daughter, Virginia Jean Harrington, who predeceased her. Marilyn is survived by her loving sons, William A. (Terry) Peck of Memphis, TN, and Thomas R. (Melanie) Peck of Southaven, MS, along with her daughter Margaret S. (Bob) Morrison of Horn Lake, MS and her Sister in Law Carol Iversen of MN, and a host of other family and friends

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Jeanette Kunnen, her husband of 56 years and the father of her children William R. Peck and her special friend John E. Fontaine "Little Jack".

Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren: Christy (Rodrigo) Sanchez of GA, Lisa Barker of TN, Heather (Joey) Scarbrough of MN, Casey (Jay) Hamilton of AL, Adam (Natalie) Dickerson of IN, Emily Dickerson of MS, William S. Peck of TN, Stephanie (Bryan) Miller of MS, Katie Peck of TN, Ciara Morrison of MS, and Sarah (Cody) Ward of AL, as well as her twenty great-grandchildren. Each one cherished the countless memories made with their Grandma, who often surprised them with early birthday gifts and personalized surprises from her home.

Marilyn’s love extended beyond her family to her community. A longtime member of Longstreet Methodist Church and Eastern Star, her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her and those around her. She found joy in shopping, dressing impeccably, and listening to country music, often reminiscing fondly about visiting her mother and enjoying the beauty of Destin.

As we celebrate the life of Marilyn Jean Peck, we remember her kindness, humor, and deep devotion to her family. Her ability to create beautiful memories and decorate her home reflected her love for life and family. Marilyn leaves behind a tapestry woven with love and laughter, which will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Friends and family are invited to honor Marilyn's memory during the visitation at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on November 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and the burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Her spirit will continue to shine bright in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her legacy of love will forever be a guiding light. Marilyn Jean Peck will be deeply missed, her memory cherished and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Robert (Bob) C. Miller

Robert (Bob) C. Miller, Age 82, of Mississippi, formerly of Chicago. Devoted husband to Patricia, father of Bryan (Liping), Leila, Toby, Kelly, Jimmy, and Jack; dear brother to Ronald (Barbara), Scott, Richard (Linda), and Deborah (Michael). Fond grandfather, great grandfather, and cousin to many.

Bob served four years in the U.S. Air Force and parlayed the skills he acquired in the service into a long and successful career in Systems Management and as Manager of Financial Systems while employed with the Sacred Heart League, the Chicago Board of Education, and the Chicago Police Department.

In 1982, Bob became a founding member of the Chicago Police Department Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society. He played the bagpipes and proudly wore the kilt in many of Chicago’s storied St. Patrick’s Day parades. In later years, on a trip to Ireland to explore Pat’s Irish roots, it was Bob who was named honorary mayor of Carlo City in the county of Carlo, Ireland.

Bob has been described as an honorable and dependable man. He was a dedicated member of the Pelahatchie American Legion Post #171 and served as Commander for several years.

Bob had a gregarious sense of humor but was known to scare the hell out of folks on occasion. Little did they know that there was a big teddy bear hiding inside that gruff exterior.

Bob was the original “Bob the Builder.” He could add an addition to the house, relocate a fireplace or window, and even install a swimming pool. He was an expert on all plumbing and electrical projects and was always on-call with a resolution for others’ home maintenance emergencies.

Bob loved hard salami, a good steak at Gene & Georgetti’s, and was known to order a Manny’s corned beef sandwich on occasion.

Bob was an avid model train aficionado, relished snorkeling in the Caribbean, and piloted numerous family vacations to go camping, skiing, fishing, hiking, and to Disneyworld.

Bob’s family Is deeply grateful for the wonderful care he received from Baptist In-home Hospice.

Lisa Lynn Medlin

Lisa Lynn Medlin, a beacon of love and resilience, was born on July 1, 1964, in Memphis, TN. With a vivacious spirit and an unwavering determination, she graced the world with her presence until her passing on October 18, 2025, in Horn Lake, MS.

Lisa dedicated much of her life to her work, establishing her own cleaning business where her hard work and commitment shone through. As a housekeeper, she not only maintained the cleanliness of spaces but also left behind a touch of her love in every corner she touched. Her strong-willed nature and opinions were matched only by her caring heart and unselfish spirit. Lisa was thrifty and resourceful, always on the lookout for ways to better her life and the lives around her.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Lisa would remember her not only for her beautiful blue eyes but also for her profound depth of love and intuition. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and her honesty forged strong connections with those she loved. Lisa's proudest accomplishments are her children and grandchildren. She took great joy in watching them grow and thrive, and the memories created together will forever stay etched in their hearts.

In her leisure, Lisa sought solace in nature, finding joy in doing yard work and embracing the beauty of the world around her. She had a passion for collecting rocks and fossils, treasures from the earth that reflected her love for the natural world. Her furry friend, a beloved cat, received the same care and affection that Lisa extended to everyone in her life.

Surviving Lisa are her devoted life partner of 21 years, Richard Wilson, her children Candace Freeman, Tabitha Bailey (Larry Moffitt), and Wesley Medlin, Richard's children, Chad Wilson and Leslie Raggett, along with her four beloved grandchildren, Tristan, Anna, Alaina Claire, and Jayden, and two great-grandchildren, Atlas and Cohen and Richard's grandchildren, Conner, Hurley, Banan, and Grant. Ila Skelton

Ila Ruth Logan Skelton, 87, closed her eyes for the last time here on earth and woke up to the glory and majesty of Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 14, 2025. She passed peacefully with her daughter by her side as “When We All Get To Heaven” played in the background, leaving a godly legacy that will forever be cherished by her loved ones.

Ila had many different jobs during her life, but the only one that ever really mattered to her was being a mom and grandmother. Lovingly known as “Mikki”, she would drop everything to be there for her family at a moments notice. She took pride in her roles as a homemaker and a stay-at-home grandmother, embodying the very essence of love and devotion. If you were sick, she is the one you wanted by your side. If you had a crying baby, she’s the first person you would call. She was at every birthday, school program, sports game, and all important events for her family’s life until she was no longer able. Mikki was not just present in their lives; she was intentionally involved, always making time to play games until the children were done and cheering from the stands at every ball game and event. Her proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with her whole life revolving around the bonds she cherished so dearly.

A fiercely independent woman with a servant's heart, Mikki was known for her strong and selfless spirit. Her dedication to her family, faith, and God was evident in every aspect of her life. She had a deep love for Bible studies and was a devoted prayer warrior who was grounded in her faith.

Ila was born March 31, 1938, to Albert and Nola Logan in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She is survived by many loved ones who her entire world revolved around. She had one daughter, Michelle Skelton Chapman (Brian). She had one granddaughter, Chelsie Gilbert (Bo). Chelsie has three children, Carter, Kessler, and Kindsay Kate. Her oldest grandson is Brennon Chapman (Celeste) who has two daughters, Kinleigh and Collins. Her youngest grandson is Jeremiah Chapman (Baylee).

She had one sister, Dorothy Jean Logan Maki. She had nephews, John Maki and David Maki (Tori), that she loved as if they were her own children. John has two children, Olivia and Logan. David has one son, Matthew. A host of other family and friends join them in mourning her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Nola Logan, and her brother-in-law, Leon Maki.

Ila was a member of Immanuel church. She attended many different churches throughout the years and faithfully served at all of them. She was consistently involved in Bible Studies and developed a great community through them. She had a servant's heart and loved to care for others. We know she was greeted with “well done, good and faithful servant.” Her life was a testament to unwavering faith, unconditional love, and the importance of family.

The hole she is leaving in the hearts of all who knew her is immeasurable. But what a gift she left them in knowing they will see her again! One thing that she talked endlessly about was her love for Jesus. She was a prayer warrior who spent much of her time interceding on behalf of others. She longed for the day she would be reunited with her parents and meet Jesus face to face. And now she is there. She is now with her Savior and completely healed.

1 Thessalonians 4:13: "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who are asleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.”

While the loss her family feels is deep right now, they do not grieve as those without hope. They have complete confidence in her Salvation and know she is currently worshipping at the feet of Jesus. She is happy, healed, and we will see her again. Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the love and support they have received. They cherish your prayers in the days ahead as they navigate a new normal without her here.

Ila's legacy will endure as a guiding light for her family, a reminder of the love and faith she carried in her heart. She has truly left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Services honoring her life will be held at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi. Visitation will take place on October 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park - Midtown in Memphis, Tennessee.
