Congratulations to the new graduates of our Certified Nurse Assistant Program. This program teaches PCAs basic nursing skills such as hygiene assistance, vital sign measurement, and mobility support. After completing the program, our graduates are eligible to take a state certification exam to become a licensed CNA. Baptist DeSoto is proud to be able to help provide items to our local active military while they are away from home. The hospital held a contest with area elementary and intermediate schools for collection of the items. Our hospital team members and area students donated over 2,200 boxes of food and hygiene items along with special notes to the soldiers.

Thank you to Mid-South Package Project and the National Guard Armory for all that they do to distribute these Shoeboxes For Soldiers Items.

Baptist DeSoto Women’s Center has moved to a new location on Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto’s campus and began seeing patients today. The Women’s Center held a ribbon cutting and open house yesterday at the new location. The center is located at 363 Southcrest Circle, Suite 303 and offers screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, bone density tests and breast ultrasounds.

The new diagnostic machines provide high quality imaging designed for patient comfort. Some of the patient centered comforts include comfortable headrests, decreased time in compression, and the carbon fiber design warms up to the patient’s body. Not only do we have a much larger new space, new equipment, and rooms, we can now offer more convenient parking. Call 901-227-PINK to schedule your mammogram at our new location.

Baptist Cancer Center DeSoto and Baptist DeSoto’s radiation oncology leaders hosted a Breast Cancer Survivor luncheon on Friday. Angela Perry Donnerson, a patient of Dr. Sohail Minhas who started the Cancer Support Group at Baptist Crittenden, was the speaker.
