Gait and balance refers to how a person walks and maintains their stability while moving or standing up. At Revolution Physical Therapy, we provide gait and balance physical therapy to address issues to help improve your mobility and reduce the risk of injury.

Gait and balance issues are problems that affect a person’s ability to walk steadily or maintain equilibrium while standing or moving. These issues can range from mild unsteadiness to severe mobility impairments. Gait disorders involve abnormalities in walking patterns, while balance problems relate to difficulties in maintaining stability. Both can significantly impact a person’s quality of life, independence, and safety.

Gait and balance problems can arise from a variety of factors, such as:
• Neurological conditions like stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or multiple sclerosis
• Muscle weakness or joint stiffness
• Inner ear disorders or vertigo
• Arthritis or other joint problems
• Injuries such as sprains, fractures, or trauma to the legs or spine
• Age-related degeneration of muscles and joints

Symptoms of gait and balance disorders can include:
• Unsteady or shuffling walk
• Difficulty with coordination while walking
• Staggering or stumbling
• Frequent falls or fear of falling
• Dizziness or lightheadedness

BODY RESET STRETCHING SESSIONS

Stretching significantly benefits the body & joints, assists in injury prevention, & aids in recovery. Stretching provides major benefits for your entire body. Stretching might seem simple, but there is more to it than you think. Physical therapists understand how the body & muscles work, how to help them heal & how to help or prevent injury.

Make sure when you are choosing a stretching program - you choose one that provides highly trained & licensed practitioners - choose Revolution Physical Therapy.

I know everyone has seen some of the stretching studios that are open across the Mid-South. In a lot of these clinics, the person stretching you is NOT LICENSED & took one class to get a stretching certificate. These "stretching clinics" have no training in dealing with injuries or the specific muscles, tendons & joints in the body.

The Revolution Physical Therapy difference is we offer one-on-one stretching that is performed by a licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. That makes a HUGE difference!

At Revolution Physical Therapy, the PT or PTA responsible for your stretching session is licensed, knowledgeable & extensively trained in all orthopedic conditions, joint mechanics, injury, & prevention, as well as potential contraindications to conditions & how certain stretches could be harmful to you.

When you sign up with us at Revolution Physical Therapy, we provide an in-depth evaluation to identify those areas needing special attention or areas of concern. We have licensed physical therapists or PTAs to create your personalized stretching program. Once we design your stretching program, you can decide if you want to add dry-needling, cupping or one of our other add-on services to your session.

We offer stretching sessions Monday- Friday from 8am-5pm by appointment.

We offer these sessions to anyone- no insurance or referral is required.

Manual therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that involves skilled, hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures.

At Revolution Physical Therapy, our licensed therapists use a combination of techniques, including joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and therapeutic massage, to address a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

We have skilled and licensed therapist that use their hands to manipulate joints, muscles, and soft tissues, aiming to reduce pain, increase range of motion, and improve overall function.

This approach is tailored to each patient’s specific needs and can be used to address a wide range of conditions, from chronic back pain to sports injuries.

The benefits of manual physical therapy include:
• Pain Relief: Effectively reduces acute and chronic pain by addressing root causes in muscles, joints, and soft tissues.
• Improved Mobility: Increases range of motion and flexibility by targeting restrictions in joints and muscles.
• Enhanced Healing: Stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage, promoting faster recovery and reducing inflammation.
• Personalized Care: Tailored to individual needs, ensuring targeted and efficient treatment.

**We also offer Dry-Needling and cupping for all patients!!

DRY-NEEDLING!

Dry needling is a technique used by physical therapists to relieve muscle pain. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles into trigger points-those tight, knotted areas in muscles that cause discomfort or pain. Unlike acupuncture, which is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is based on Western medical principles & targets muscular dysfunction. The needle stimulates the trigger point, increasing blood flow & reducing muscle tightness.

Why you should try dry-needling:
*Pain Relief Without Medication: One of the biggest draws of dry needling is its ability to relieve pain without relying on painkillers. Many people report feeling immediate relief after a session, especially for conditions like chronic neck pain, lower back pain, & muscle tension.
*Improves Muscle Function & Flexibility: Tight muscles can limit your range of motion & make movement uncomfortable. By releasing tension in trigger points, dry needling can help restore flexibility & make everyday movements smoother. This is why many athletes, & active individuals turn to dry-needling treatments for recovery.
*Fast & Targeted Treatment: Unlike massage therapy, which works on a broad area, dry needling is highly specific. The physical therapist pinpoints the exact muscle causing issues & targets it directly. This means you might feel relief faster compared to other treatments that take multiple sessions to show results.
*Enhances Recovery for Injuries: If you’ve been sidelined by an injury, dry needling might help speed up the healing process. By stimulating blood flow & reducing muscle tightness, it can improve tissue repair & reduce the pain associated with sports injuries, postural issues, & even surgical recovery.

If you’re struggling with muscle pain, tension, or limited mobility, dry needling could be worth considering, especially if other treatments haven’t worked. The key is to find a licensed practitioner & set realistic expectations. While some experience quick relief, others may need multiple sessions combined with stretching, strengthening, or other therapies for lasting results.
