As you likely have seen on the news, there have been some instances of distress, psychological symptoms, and risk behavior that seem to have arisen from interactions with AI chatbots. A coalition has emerged to better understand the nature of these potential harms. What does this look like? How has it happened?

We (at UNC Chapel Hill) are conducting preliminary research on this topic by asking folks to answer a few questions and provide some information about chatbot experiences that they, or those they care for, may have had. All is de-identified and anonymous.

Can you please pass this link along to any patients, parents, adults, kids, teachers etc who may know someone who reports a negative experience with an AI chatbot?

Thanks!
