Early signing builds the bridge to speech 🤟🏼🤗
Baby ASL supports language development by giving infants a way to communicate before verbal skills fully emerge.
How To Sign “Please” ⬇️

In therapy, activities in prone on a swing (lying on the tummy while swinging) are a powerhouse! They work on a bunch of core developmental areas at once:
💪 Postural control & strength
-Core and trunk strength
-Shoulder stability and upper-extremity weight bearing
-Neck and head control (especially against gravity)
🧠 Sensory processing
-Vestibular input (movement through space)
-Proprioceptive input through joints and muscles
-Helps with body awareness and regulation
👀 Visual & motor skills
-Visual tracking and scanning while moving
-Eye–hand coordination (reaching, grabbing, tossing)
-Motor planning and bilateral coordination
🧩 Functional skills
-Prerequisites for fine-motor skills (writing readiness, cutting, hand strength)
-Supports attention, endurance, and task engagement
-Encourages midline orientation and body organization
🌈 Self-regulation
-Can be alerting or organizing depending on speed and direction
-Often used to help kids “get their bodies ready” for tabletop tasks
⭐️ Examples of prone swing activities can include: -Puzzle pieces or beanbags placed around the room
-Animal matching cards
-Ring toss or target games
-Writing/drawing on a vertical surface while swinging

New Addition Alert 🗣️
We’ve added a communication board in our therapy gym that models AAC devices. 💬 This is a great tool to give children a way to communicate wants, choices, and ideas during play. It also reduces frustration when speech is difficult in the moment. Small additions like this can make a BIG IMPACT! 🤗
