WIC South Central Massachusetts

WIC South Central Massachusetts Welcome to South Central WIC Program's page. Good Food and A Whole Lot More! Let us know if there is a topic you would like us to address.

The Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) is a federally funded supplemental nutrition program that provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to families who qualify. For more information visit: www.mass.gov/wic or call the Southbridge WIC office at 508-765-0139 to find out if you are eligible or to find an office near you. Our page will share helpful nutrition and breastfeeding information with our participants and anyone who is interested in health-related topics. Please feel free to share your challenges and ask questions about weight, breastfeeding, prenatal nutrition, infant nutrition, and so on. We will be posting links to the latest research in nutrition, the schedule for our free breastfeeding classes, healthy recipes, and links to helpful websites for nutrition and breastfeeding. We welcome your suggestions. We are excited to be a part of the Facebook community.

April is , a time to raise awareness and acceptance of autism. This month, we celebrate neurodiversity while recognizing the unique needs of families. WIC can help parents and caregivers raising autistic children by providing access to healthy food, tailored nutrition support for sensory needs, referrals to healthcare and community services, and judgment-free support for all types of families. Every child deserves to thrive in their own way. WIC is here to help make that happen. For more information or to apply, visit: www.mass.gov/forms/apply-for-wic-online

DYK that children ages 2 to 5 years old should have no more than 4 to 6 ounces of 100% juice each day. That’s less than 1 cup! Too much juice can lead to health problems such as dental cavities and an unhealthy weight.

Eating whole fruit is always better than drinking juice. You now have the option to swap out your juice benefit for an extra $3 in WIC cash value benefits to buy more fresh, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables!
