We provide professional support to families of individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Our goal is to promote independence, generalize skill development across settings, and increase the quality of life for each child we serve.

We wish you a year filled with happiness, growth, and new beginnings. As a reminder, New Beginnings will be closed Thursday through Saturday and will reopen on Monday.

Last week was a joyful whirlwind! Our Gingerbread Pal stopped by spreading holiday cheer with candy, smiles, hugs, and lots of dancing—making it a visit to remember. We were also thrilled to have a special visit from Santa a few days before Christmas, which brought so much excitement to our day!

Our older group joined in the fun with a cozy holiday movie and Christmas PJ party, along with making gingerbread people and adorable Rudolph treats. It was a week filled with laughter, fun, and festive memories.

We hope all of our families enjoyed special time together and created many wonderful holiday memories. ❤️🎄

One of our favorite traditions each holiday season is participating in the Festival of Giving Trees in Southbridge. ✨🎄

This year, our tree is themed “Once Upon a Bookworm”—and every single ornament was lovingly handmade by our talented clients! 📚🐛

Each ornament represents one of our favorite storybooks:
🟢 Caterpillars for The Very Hungry Caterpillar
🐟 Shimmering fish for Rainbow Fish
🍪 Mice & cookies for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
🐻 Bears for Goldilocks & the Three Bears
🐺 Wolves for Little Red Riding Hood
🎨 Color Monsters inspired by The Color Monster

Topping our tree is a beautiful star crafted from book pages, and at the base you’ll find several themed gift baskets—including Disney, dinosaurs, Cat in the Hat, and a storytime basket filled with books and puppets.

🌟 If your raffle ticket is picked, you win the entire tree and everything with it!

The Festival of Giving Trees is a cherished community fundraiser. Since its founding in 1998 by Sue Hapgood, it has raised over $1 million in support of Silent Spring Institute, the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, and the UMass Memorial Health Cancer Center at Harrington Hospital. In 2024 alone, the Festival proudly donated $25,000 to each beneficiary.

We’re honored to be part of such a meaningful cause and to share our clients’ creativity with the community. 💛🎄✨

Fresh off the presses: See what's happening at New Beginnings during December! 🎄🎁❄️

November was truly an incredible month at New Beginnings! We stayed busy with fun and meaningful experiences—from swimming at the Y and visiting Kid Power Gymnastics to exploring local playgrounds and libraries. Our 2nd Annual New Beginnings Family Halloween Party was such a success, and we loved seeing so many families come out to celebrate with us.

We also held our second annual Staff Appreciation Day, where our amazing team enjoyed a delicious meal, made crafts, and laughed the afternoon away with comedians from Funny 4 Funds. Our afternoon clients had an exciting month as well, filled with activities—though making (and eating!) cotton candy may have been the ultimate highlight.

As November came to a close, we were reminded just how grateful we are for the families who entrust their kiddos to us each and every day. We’re looking forward to a bright December filled with new memories, growth, and joyful moments together. 💙✨

We’re feeling extra grateful this week at New Beginnings! 🧡
Our team had so much fun putting together Thanksgiving bags for some of our families — and Serenity even rocked the cutest turkey-inspired hairdo to help spread the holiday cheer! 🦃✨
A big thank you to Serenity, Marcy & Lisa for delivering the bags with so much joy. We are truly grateful for every one of our amazing families and the trust you place in us each day.
