Our Life Enrichment Team hosted a fun-filled afternoon party for our Terrace residents, complete with music, laughter, and delicious sweets. It was a wonderful time of celebration, connection, and joy shared together.

What a fabulous first-ever Galentine’s Night in Hutchins Hall! 💕

Hosted by our COO, Carrie, this special evening was all about celebrating friendship and yes, no boys were allowed! 😉

We cozied up in our PJs, sipped wine, enjoyed delicious sweets, and watched Notting Hill together. There’s nothing better than laughter, great conversation, and time spent with wonderful girlfriends.

Thank you to all the ladies who joined us, it truly was the best night with the best company! ✨🍷🎬

After a recent movie night here at Penick featuring "Poms"—a heartwarming film about women in a retirement community who start their own cheer squad—a group of residents (Iris, Jean, Mary Ann, and Deb seen here) felt inspired to bring that same spirit to Penick Village—and soon created their own cheer squad.

After cheering for seated volleyball on Saturdays, the group was invited to bring their spirit to the “Cornpetition,” our Co****le Challenge for Benevolent Assistance. Residents Dale S. and Grant L. nailed the win in a friendly matchup against Missy Smith (CFO) and Carrie Dugas (COO), while the cheer squad kept the crowd going with corn-specific cheers. And in true friendly-competition fashion, Missy and Carrie graciously made a donation to the Benevolent Assistance Fund.

A fun afternoon filled with laughter, community spirit, and support for an important cause—helping ensure residents can continue to call Penick Village home, even in times of financial need.

We hope this might be our last round of snow photos for a while… but when our residents share views like this, we just had to pass along a little Penick Village winter wonderland.

Many roads in Southern Pines and surrounding areas are still ice covered, please use caution if you plan to venture out.

Local governments and other organizations have announced closures for Monday as the winter storm lingers, with several inches of snow blanketing Moore County.
