Agency Caregivers vs. Family Caregivers. What’s the Difference?
At Trinity Support Group Services, we’re often asked about the difference between agency caregivers and family caregivers. While both provide essential care, their roles and requirements are slightly different.
✨ Agency Caregivers
• Employed and trained by the agency
• Must meet state compliance requirements
• Required to clock in and out through the EVV system
• Complete ongoing training and evaluations
• Supervised and supported by our care team
✨ Family Caregivers
• Typically a relative or close connection to the client
• Approved through state programs
• Also required to clock in and out through the EVV system
• Must follow state guidelines for hours and approved services
• Supported by the agency for compliance purposes
💗 What they have in common:
Both are entrusted with caring for someone’s loved one — and that responsibility matters.
We lead with compassion and hold high standards, because families trust us with what matters most.
