We want to take a moment to lift up all the families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a loved one—especially our children, who are the future leaders, career professionals, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

The senseless violence sweeping through our communities is devastating. It robs families of their peace, children of their futures, and neighborhoods of their hope. Drive-by shootings and other acts of hatred leave behind unbearable grief and unanswered questions. As a mother, I can't begin to imagine the pain, but I choose to stand in solidarity with every parent suffering this unimaginable loss.

We must come together, as one voice, one village, to protect our children and speak out. These tragedies are not just “their” stories—they could be ours. It’s time to care deeply, act boldly, and protect fiercely.

On Saturday, August 16th, Keep The School Safe, Inc. in partnership with Elite Women Organization invites you to join us at Russell Woods Park (Broadstreet & Fullerton Ave, Detroit) from 12PM to 4PM for a powerful day of unity, healing, and hope.

We’re honored to welcome Detroit Chief of Police Todd Bettison and Special Guest Speaker Angelica Speaks, as we give away 200 backpacks filled with supplies to children in need—because every child deserves the tools to succeed and a community that has their back.

Let’s show up, speak up, and lift up our youth. Our children need us. Hope to see you there.
