Why Accutane patients struggle with dry eye👁️
Accutane can damage the meibomian glands- the tiny glands in your eyelids that produce the oil layer of your tears. When these glands shrink or stop working, your tears evaporate too quickly, causing dryness.
This video shows an Accutane patient undergoing meibomian gland expression, where we manually clear out the thick, waxy oils trapped in the glands to help restore function and relieve discomfort.
