Hello All,

I hope that this message finds you and your family in continued good health. Thank you for patiently staying with me as I navigate this through this journey of the unknown COVID-19 viral pandemic.
On May 21, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-97 called the “Safeguards to protect Michigan’s workers from COVID-19.” It created an enforceable set of workplace standards applicable to all Michigan businesses. In accordance with this order, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has taken proactive steps to ensure that all licensed professionals implement infection control practices and protocols to protect their employees and patients.
Based on the Governor’s most recent comments, July 4th appears to be the set date for massage parlors to reopen. TrueTouch Massage Therapy (TTMT) has created a new practice of protocols that seem most appropriate for us as we move forward with the reopening of the office for business. Over the past three months, TTMT has been in tireless pursuit of information that would allow me to continue serving in a responsible and professional manner without sacrificing the health and care of our clients.
Please note:
1. Safety is an important element of your therapy and as such there is a “new” normal in our office.
2. Face masks must be utilized by the therapist and the client in treatment rooms to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. No exceptions.
3. Stringent sanitation protocols between each client with use of an EPA-certified disinfectants on all surfaces, doorknobs, chairs, etc., is critical.
4. Change all linens, fleece blankets, and the use of protective clothes covering by the therapist between each client.
5. Use gloves when necessary.
6. Stagger client appointments or text them when they can come in so there is no more than one client at a time in common areas. We need to make sure there is ample time to prepare for, and take care of, each client and my work area.
7. Be transparent. Have you had a fever of 100°F or above in the last 24 hours? Do you now or have you recently had any respiratory or flu-like symptoms, sore throat, or shortness of breath? In the last 14 days, have you been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or other Coronavirus-type symptoms? If so, please reschedule without penalty.

Good afternoon. Various individuals - clients and potential clients - have contacted me inquiring when I would reopen for service. As you know Governor Whitmer has extended her “Stay-At-Home Stay-Safe” mandate to June 12, 2020 and the State of Emergency until June 19, 2020. Although our economy partially reopened, businesses such gymnasiums, barbers and massage parlors are still closed and has not yet been given the green light open.

I have been patiently waiting to return but I only want to do so with everyone’s safety in mind. So far, I remain healthy, patient, and positive as I slowly prepare for my return. In doing so, I have taken online CME courses for massage therapists specifically for COVID-19 and my office has already undergone deep cleaning. I am waiting for other additional guidelines and protocols from Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP), as well as my school, Irene’s Institute of Myomassology that will also be applied to the management of my office.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to serving you. As always, be safe. Be well. Be healthy. Be blessed.

Good afternoon. Once again, I hope everyone is staying healthy, getting some exercise and stretching. Fortunately, thank God, my family and I have remained healthy and I look forward to the day I will be able to return to work. Due to the Governor extending her “Stay-At-Home” mandate and her plan to reopen our state’s economy in phases and with massage parlors being one of the last, I am not sure at to when that will occur. Be that as it may, here are a couple of YouTube videos that will not take much of your time and can be really beneficial especially since we are doing so much sitting these days.

Good day everyone. What a stressful time this is! In lieu of the pandemic outbreak and fluid situation of the Coronavirus, by the order of our Governor, we/I along with all spas, must close for the next few weeks. All scheduled appointments are being canceled for the time being. I apologize for not being able to accommodate you and will be sending out an email/text message when we have been allowed to reopen. As of right now, we are closed until April 6 but will keep everyone posted. Instill and practice the good safety precautions as recommended by the CDC. Be well. Be blessed.

Good afternoon everyone. Today is a good day!! GREAT NEWS! PT introduced several new isometric exercises that simulates the “generation of massage pressure.” Today PT gave the green light for me to began practicing my massages at 5 min intervals 2-3 times a week to slowly increase my endurance and stamina. Can't hardly wait to return. It won’t be long now. 😊. Be well. Be blessed. And, hoping you a great holiday weekend.

Hello everyone. It has been a while since my last post whether it was to keep you informed about TrueTouch Massage and/or to thank a client for allowing me to serve them. Last month, Monday, May 20, I had surgery for a left rotator cuff repair. The surgery went well. In fact, I am beginning to feel more like myself and I no longer need any pain medications. Due to the sling, post op recovery time and PT, I was informed today that it will be at will be a couple of months August/September before I will be released to return to work. I apologize for any inconvenience and I hope that you will once again allow me to serve you in the future. Be well. Be blessed.
