The stereotype of workplace bullying is a screaming person in a public setting in front of others. However, more workplace bullying (mobbing ) is done behind closed doors using more subtle tactics. Perpetrators , therefore, deny their actions . This allows the abusers to deny their actions while targets typically are not believed in these he said/she said incidents . Employers can easily deny the unseen acts .

In the NTS daily counselors “Let’s Get It” brief this morning , one of the counselors brought up Ecclesiastes 1:9 . You don’t have to be religious to see it . Hopefully we all read A BOOK and can listen to discourse . If indeed “everything is the same , there is nothing new under the sun”, then mental illness has been around forever . 😲. Denying it has also been around FOREVER. But one day a very special someone died and said , “It is finished.” You can call it “ demons , crazy , stupid , foolish , re****ed , idiotic , ridiculous, mental , outrageous “, or whatever you learned in your family of origin . Just like cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes , a cold , it’s an illness . What does YOUR future look like ? Call a doctor . Call us . Let’s talk . And .... With us , it’s not just business ; it’s personal. We’re not free but we probably cost less than the 4th of July outfit you’re planning to buy . 😊

It is said that a “disgruntled employee “ killed 12 people in Virginia Beach today . Details are still unfolding, but we have a counselor here who is watching this story closely . We here at , NTS, have counselors who specialize in the area of workplace stress and workplace violence . This sort of violence occurs far more than the public knows and far more than it ever has in human history . We are always very sad for all involved , including the employee who commits such atrocities , when these things happen . How can we be sad for a killer ? A seemingly coward who shoots innocent people ? We know the symptoms of workplace stress . We also know the sadness and desperation that workers sometime feel concerning their job . Symptoms favor no face . Mental illness favors no age, gender, race, income bracket ....nothing . It could happen to you . For some counselors here at NTS, it has happened to them . Any stressful situation can push someone over the proverbial edge . We spend more time at workplaces than we do at home ! Are you okay ? Are you sure ? Do you need to talk about it ? Have you ever said , “ I’m about to go postal in here.” , somewhat jokingly , because of issues at your job ? Do you know the sad history behind that very real statement ? Do not be ashamed to ask for help . With us , it’s confidential ...to a point .
