Ok friends, consider yourselves forewarned—I'm going to gush over my kids. 😬 This photo was taken aboard the Essex Dinner Train, a birthday gift from my beautiful daughter Abby. We spent a wonderful evening together talking about love, life, and our dreams for the future. As I got into bed that evening, I thanked God for her and my other three kiddos. They truly are the lights of my life. Not a day goes by where we don't talk or connect in some way and considering there's four of them, that’s quite a feat! 😉
Don’t get me wrong—like all families we've hit a bump or two along the way. But I honestly think the reason those bumps didn't get the best of us is because we chose to preserve our relationships above all else. This is a practice I started when they entered the turbulent teen years. No matter what the issue was, I tried to parent them through it with love and respect. I’d once read a passage that said "you're not raising kids, you're raising future adults" and it really stuck with me. More than anything, I wanted a close and loving relationship with those future adults, and I made that a priority in my parenting. I'm very happy to say that philosophy paid off big time, and today, I’m enjoying an amazing friendship with four of the most inspiring people I know.
If you're looking to bring more awareness into your parenting style, I invite you to take my Conscious Parenting series. I’ve poured my heart into this course, and I’m confident you’ll come away with a much better understanding of yourself and your children. 💛 To learn more, see link in bio
