Oftentimes nodules are not visible when they are small. It’s important to have annual check ups with your primary doctor. Many times patients find out about nodules they never knew they had during a routine examination.

Some symptoms to look for include:
✔️trouble swallowing
✔️a small lump in your throat area
✔️a constant coughing
✔️constantly clearing your throat

Be sure to discuss any of these symptoms with your doctor and rule out the possibility of a thyroid nodule!

Cold thyroid nodules can cause trouble swallowing, breathing, hoarseness, and pain in the neck.

Some unexpected symptoms can also present, such as brain fog and fatigue.

It is important to pay attention to all your symptoms and share with your doctor.

The procedure itself is non-invasive-there is no incision, only a small puncture from the needle used to perform the procedure.

Because of the puncture and probing done to treat the nodule, the area may be a little swollen.

Once the RFA procedure is complete, using an ice pack may help reduce any swelling. Do this for the following few days and take Advil or Tylenol if needed.

The good news is that because thyroid RFA is non-invasive there is nothing you need to do the night before.

There is no need to fast and there is no general anesthesia.
