“I don’t want to look like a different person.” 🙅‍♀️ I hear this all the time from my facial rejuvenation patients - and that’s a GOOD thing! Facial rejuvenation is not about changing your identity. If anything, it’s about restoring your identity. Patients want to look as good as they feel, not like someone else entirely.
•
This patient underwent a facelift, necklift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and a full face erbium laser resurfacing.
•
Is erbium the same as a CO2 laser? Great question! No, erbium is similar to a CO2 laser in that both target water in the skin. However, an erbium laser has a 1000x higher affinity for water and therefore has a much smaller zones of injury. This means I can be much more precise with an erbium laser. The laser takes off several of the top layers of the skin to improve tone and complexion. This helps significantly with those age spots and sun spot, fine wrinkles, and crepey skin through the face.

Subtle changes, dramatic results. 😍 This patient had jawline and submental (under the chin) liposuction with buccal fat pad excision. What a change!

You’d like to know more? Certainly!
•
The liposuction is performed through three tiny incisions: under the chin and one behind each ear. Patients that are excellent candidates for jawline/submental liposuction have fullness in the area but excellent skin quality. For patients with fullness but also lax skin, or just skin laxity, they would be better suited with a face or neck lift.
•
What about the buccal fat excision? What is that? I’m glad you asked! Ok I need you to look in a mirror. Now bite your cheeks on each side. See how that changes the contour of your lower face? That’s your buccal fat! If you look on this patients frontal view, the buccal fat excision narrowed the lower third or her face, making the middle third wider. This is a more youthful, refreshed, and softer look. So happy for her! 😁

Mommy Makeover Transformation 🤩 this mother of 4, yes FOUR, was in fantastic shape but was bothered by some of the changes she experienced with her pregnancies. In particular, she had some laxity of the abdominal wall musculature and skin, mild breast drooping, and breast deflation.
•
For this patient, I performed a tummy tuck with flank liposuction, breast augmentation with 425cc full profile implants, and a periar**lar mastopexy to subtly reposition the ni**le and ar**la.
•
A periar**lar mastopexy?! 🤯 yes, otherwise known as a donut breast lift. The incision is only around the ar**la (no vertical incision). This option is great for patient who have just a little bit of drooping or want to decrease the size of their ar**la.
•

What is my nose going to look like one week after a rhinoplasty? I get this question all the time. Also, when will I see the results of a rhinoplasty?
•
Well, as you can see, this patient is one week after a rhinoplasty. You can clearly see the results, which are STUNNING 🤩. Her nose is swollen, especially the tip. Sometimes, patients who have a large reduction of the bridge will have more swelling in that area. When that is the case, I will often have patients do some nighttime taping of the bridge to help the skin contour to the new bony/cartilage framework. I also frequently will do a mild steroid injection in the early postoperative period to help with swelling.
•
A lot of the swelling will subside by one month postoperatively. The remainder of swelling will continue to resolve, and the results will continue to improve for up to a year after the surgery. 🙌
•

Rhinoplasty to reduce the bridge, refine and lift the tip, and balance the nose with the face.
•
Rhinoplasty is a day surgery procedure. Meaning you go home after you wake up from anesthesia. Changes in both the appearance and function of the nose can be made. You’ll have a splint on the outside of the nose, splints on the inside of the nose, sutures in the columella (bottom), and sometimes sutures in the alar creases (side). All of this comes off at 1 week.
•
The nose will be swollen and this will improve dramatically during the 1st month after surgery. After 1 month, the swelling will continue to decrease and the results will continue to improve for up to a year after the procedure.

Rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging procedures in plastic surgery 👃🧐. It can also be one of the most transformative 🤩. This patient felt that her nose was too large for her face.
•
An open rhinoplasty with reduction of the bridge, rotation of the tip, refinement of the tip, and narrowing of the ala was performed.
•
This patient has thick nasal skin so she has received a couple of special postoperative steroid injections and has been doing nighttime taping. She is shown just one month postop looking fantastic! SO happy for her.
