Do you wear headphones or keep your AirPods in all the time? Then this is good to know 👇🏼

You have probably heard that wearing headphones or AirPods can damage your hearing. Luckily that is not always true, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Listening for long periods or at high volume can harm your hearing. The louder the sound, the shorter the safe listening time. If you listen more than 40 hours a week at 80 decibels, it can already start to affect your hearing. Every time you turn the volume up, the safe listening time is cut in half.

Our tip: keep the volume a bit lower and take short breaks every now and then.
That way you can keep enjoying your favorite music and podcasts without harming your hearing. 😊

Today we honor the veterans who have served with courage and dedication. 🇺🇸

In their line of work, good hearing often makes all the difference. But out in the field, that is not always easy. Loud noises and high-pressure environments can take a toll on hearing over time.

That is why we are proud to support veterans by helping them protect their hearing and continue to enjoy the sounds that make life meaningful.

We are deeply grateful for your service and bravery. 💙

If you or someone you know has noticed changes in hearing, schedule a hearing evaluation through our website. Together we will find the best solution for you.

Luna is 50 years and a motivational speaker. She often stands in front of large audiences and interacts closely with her crowd.

That’s why she quickly noticed her hearing was starting to decline.

During presentations she found herself saying “Sorry, could you repeat that?” more and more often. It felt frustrating and made her lose confidence.

Not long after, Luna came to us for a hearing test. It showed she had sensorineural hearing loss caused by damage to her inner ear. After 15 years of speaking on stage with loud applause, music and background noise, her hearing had taken a serious hit.

Thankfully we were able to help. With the right hearing aid and the right settings, Luna’s hearing improved and she could get back to doing what she loves most.

Do you recognize yourself in Luna’s story? Maybe it’s time to have your hearing checked. We’re here to help. 💚

My parents don’t want a hearing test… Can I schedule one for them?

Your mom insists she hears everything just fine. Your dad swears his ears have never been better. But during conversations, you notice they’re missing things. No matter what you say, they just won’t admit it.

Often it’s because they feel nervous, they’re in denial, or they don’t like the idea of wearing a hearing aid.

The good news? We see children every day who take the first step and schedule an appointment for their parents. And it works. They almost always show up for their appointment. 😉

Afterward, they’re so relieved and grateful to finally have clarity.

So yes, you can absolutely make an appointment for someone else. We’ll take the time to explain everything and make sure they feel comfortable right away.

This is how a hearing aid helps with tinnitus ⤵️

Tinnitus can have a big impact on your life. That constant ringing or buzzing in your ear is exhausting and can lead to stress, trouble concentrating, or even sleepless nights.

Tinnitus unfortunately never fully goes away. But there are ways to make the symptoms easier to live with.

One of those ways is with a hearing aid. By amplifying everyday sounds, the ringing often becomes less noticeable. Many people experience more peace of mind and less discomfort from their tinnitus as a result.

We understand that taking the step toward a hearing aid can feel overwhelming. That’s why at Écoutez Hearing we take the time to carefully find what works best for you. Together we’ll look for the right solution for your hearing and your lifestyle. 💚

Blocked ears on a flight? Here’s how to fix it! 🛩️

We’ve all been there. You’re finally relaxed on the plane to your vacation destination and suddenly your ears pop and feel blocked. Annoying, right? Luckily there’s a simple explanation.

It’s caused by changes in air pressure. During landing the pressure shifts quickly, which often makes your ears feel clogged.

Many people try blowing hard through their nose. It’s better not to, because over time this can weaken your eardrum and harm your hearing.

Here’s what helps instead:
👉🏼 Take small sips of water
👉🏼 Chew gum
👉🏼 Keep swallowing
👉🏼 Gently blow your nose before the flight

These tricks not only help prevent blocked ears, they also protect your hearing. 💚
