Some facial concerns are interconnected, which means the solution needs to be just as intentional.

This patient wanted improvement in her chin texture, subtle lift through the cheeks, and a natural enhancement to her lips. Her treatment plan included subcision for chin dimpling, filler in the cheeks, chin, and lips, and neurotoxin to support smooth, balanced results.

Subcision helped reduce the appearance of a “golf ball” chin by releasing the underlying tissue. Filler restored structure and lift, while neurotoxin softened movement so everything looked more refined and cohesive.

The goal was not to change her face, but to smooth, lift, and enhance what was already there.

This patient’s concerns included redness, pigmentation, fine lines, and deeper wrinkles — all common signs of cumulative sun damage and aging. Her treatment plan combined HALO and TRL laser to target both the surface and deeper layers of the skin.

In this video, Dr. Ellis explains the full process: from identifying concerns at the start, to what the healing phase looks like, to the final results achieved. This combination approach allows for improvement in tone, texture, and overall skin quality over time.

Laser treatments are not one-size-fits-all. Success comes from choosing the right technology, proper timing, and realistic expectations during healing.
If you’re noticing changes in your skin and want expert guidance, a laser consultation can help determine the best approach for you.

Functional Fridays continue with Elizabeth Joseph, PA-C, breaking down the difference between GLP-1 and GIP therapies in a way that’s easy to understand.

In this video, Elizabeth explains
How GLP-1 medications help with appetite regulation and cardiometabolic support
How GIP activity impacts fat metabolism and bone health
Which popular medications are GLP-1 only versus combination GLP-1 + GIP

These medications are powerful tools when used appropriately, but they are prescription therapies approved by the FDA for specific medical indications. They are not suitable for everyone, and individual results and risks can vary. A personalized medical evaluation is essential.

We want this series to be guided by what you want to learn.

If your upper lip disappears when you smile, this is for you.

This patient wanted subtle balance and a little more show of her top lip without overfilling. Using a lip flip with neurotoxin and strategic lip filler, Elizabeth was able to enhance shape, improve lip visibility, and keep everything natural and proportional.

Small upper lips do not always need more filler. Sometimes they need the right technique.

Acne can be frustrating, especially for teens who are doing everything they are told and still not seeing results.

This before and after carousel highlights a four month acne treatment journey using Aerolase laser treatments paired with consistent facials. Over time, the skin became calmer, clearer, and more balanced, with noticeable improvement beginning around month two.

Aerolase is often used for acne because it helps reduce acne causing bacteria and inflammation while being gentle on the skin. When paired with consistency and supportive homecare, it can make a meaningful difference.

This patient also followed a simple routine at home using Alastin Hydratint SPF and SkinCeuticals Corrective Essence Mist.

Every patient’s skin is different and results can vary, but the end goal is always the same. Better acne control, healthier skin, and confidence moving forward.

👉 If you or your teen are struggling with acne and want a plan built around your skin, schedule a consultation to learn more about Aerolase and acne focused care.

January is one of the best times of year to start laser treatments especially in Texas.

With lower UV exposure and cooler temperatures, the skin can recover more effectively and respond better to treatments like BBL, HALO, and MLP when performed as a series. This timing helps improve tone, texture, and pigmentation while reducing the risk of sun related setbacks.

Every laser appointment at the L.A.B. begins with a consultation and includes a VISIA skin analysis to guide a customized treatment plan.

If you are ready for a skin reset, January is the ideal time to begin.
