Sophia is a Master of Social Work student at the University of Kentucky, committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward emotional wellness and personal growth. She is passionate about helping others uncover their inner strengths and believes in the transformative power of diversity, compassion, and service to create lasting change.
Having received her Bachelor of Social Work from Brigham Young University Hawaii, Sophia discovered her passion for diversity and how embracing differences can bring healing and unity to communities. Her professional journey has led her to work with a wide range of populations, including teenage boys in recovery from substance use, adolescent girls facing severe OCD, anxiety, and depression, as well as individuals with Fragile X syndrome and autism in group home settings. She has also served the elderly and worked as a teacher’s assistant with first graders in Hawaii.
Sophia brings a rich perspective shaped by her experiences living in California, Colorado, New York, New Hampshire, Hawaii, and now Utah. These varied environments have given her a deep appreciation for diverse lived experiences and a flexible, culturally responsive approach to care.
Outside of her academic and clinical work, Sophia finds joy in running, playing soccer, basketball, and tennis, as well as swimming in the ocean and traveling. These passions keep her grounded and remind her of the beauty, resilience, and movement found in life—even amidst challenges.
