These awards recognize the team at ER at McCarran NW for their commitment to ensuring stroke, cardiac, and diabetic patients receive the most appropriate treatment, aligning with national best practices. Great work!

Well, hello there, baby Everett! 💙Congratulations to parents, Giustina and Justin, on the newest family addition. Little Everett was born on November 4 at 4:49 p.m. He was born six weeks early, weighing 5 pounds 15 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. He's spending some time in the NICU but getting stronger every day and eager to go home!

Join us in welcoming Madison Murray, MD to our specialty clinic in Sparks as general surgeon. Dr. Madison Murray recently completed her general surgery residency with UC Irvine and was a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine. She is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association. She is excited to be back in northern Nevada, practicing alongside her father, Dr. Michael Murray, who has practiced general surgery for 31 years and is also on our Northern Nevada Medical Group team. As the clinic grows and she begins her first role as a physician, she is excited to explore the diversity of general surgery as a specialty.

A heartfelt congratulations to Sarah Soto, Med/Tele Nursing Manager at Northern Nevada Medical Center. Sarah is our latest 'Northern Star' in the leadership category. In her nomination, she is described as being "one of the best managers I've had the pleasure of working with. She is constantly offering help when we need it on the floor, answering call lights and running to bed alarms. Anytime any of us need something she is the first one there.

Her knowledge of this job is extremely impressive; there hasn't been a question I've asked that she doesn't know the answer to. Her compassion for her staff and our patients is very refreshing. She has always been there for her staff members both at work and personally, offering any advice or simply words of encouragement. I am extremely lucky and grateful to be able to work closely with her and I try to soak up any knowledge and wisdom from her that I possibly can."

Welcome to beautiful Northern Nevada, Gino Cortes, MS, FNP-BC! Cortes joins the Northern Nevada Medical Group clinic team in Damonte Ranch as a patient-centric family nurse practitioner. With a Master of Science from Georgetown University, Cortes is excited to build rapport with caregivers and providers to ensure patients receive the best care possible.

Did you know nurse practitioners can conduct physical exams, assist in diagnosing and treating acute and
chronic illnesses, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and educate patients on health and disease prevention? We’re thrilled to have Gino on board; welcome to the team!
