Engineers, researchers, and product designers change the world.

That belief is what started Component Supply.

Back in 2009, there was no perfect plan. Just a few air-conditioned shipping containers in Central Florida and components to help engineers, researchers, and product designers change the world. What began as a small idea quickly turned into something more —more customers, more employees, more capabilities, and eventually a new location in Middle Tennessee.

Almost 17 years later, even with all that's happened, we still feel like we're just getting started.

It's a pretty incredible story, and we're thankful you've been a part of it.

Most engineers don’t realize how many options they have in tip grinding and wire end forms until they’re already over-spec’d. In our latest Bits & Pieces episode, we break down:

- Tip grinding for hypodermic tubing
- End forms for wire and mandrels
- Where cost and performance are often misunderstood

If you’re trying to make prototyping easier (and avoid unnecessary complexity), this episode is worth a listen.

Check it out and connect with our engineering and custom quoting teams to see what’s possible.

Our tube and wire bending capabilities are built around precision, repeatability, and understanding how each bend impacts downstream performance from assembly to final use. The goal isn’t just forming parts, it’s making sure they perform exactly as intended, every time.

If you’re working through a challenging design or looking to improve consistency, let’s talk.

In our newest Bits & Pieces episode, Mark and Kristin break down how wire end forms and hypotube tip grinds affect not only performance, but cost too, and where engineers often over-specify without realizing it.

This episode also covers:
• Common wire end forms like bull nose, full radius, chamfer, bevel, and broken edges
• Hypotube tip grind options including single bevels, multi-facet grinds, and trocar points
• How different end geometries affect device assembly and insertion

One thing we hear from customers all the time: “I didn't know you ship orders the same day!"

Yes, we do! Our in-stock components ship the same day when they're ordered by 2 PM CST. When you’re prototyping, testing, or troubleshooting a design, waiting days for components can slow everything down. Getting parts quickly can make all the difference in keeping projects moving.

Place an order today on www.componentsupplycompany.com or call us at 931-761-4000.

"Why is my stainless steel rusting?"

It's not an uncommon question we hear. After all, stainless steel is supposed to be "corrosion resistant", right?

In this episode of Bits & Pieces, Mark and Kristin break down:

• Why corrosion can still occur.

• What environmental factors play a role.

• How secondary processes after passivation, like grinding, can affect corrosion resistance.

If you work with stainless steel components, this conversation might answer a question you’ve had, or help prevent one later.

Our Mission

The mission of Component Supply is to be a resource for researchers and product designers by connecting them with the components and knowledge they need to change the world.

While we don’t always know the end-use of the components we supply and fabricate, we are experts at pinpointing the obstacles to R&D right from the start. We never want to see a project die, so we have studied the tension between budget, deadlines, and cost to create a comprehensive product offering, to shorten lead times for supply and fabricated parts, and to limit minimum order quantities. Then, as a project grows, we are equipped to transition from prototype to product volumes. Our role is small, but for universities, research labs, and medical device start-ups all over the world, our impact is huge.
