We truly enjoyed being part of the Mental Health Counseling Department Job Fair at TTU! It was inspiring to meet so many dedicated students preparing to make a difference in the field of mental health. Su***de is the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10-14, and the third leading cause for people ages 15-24. The team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt wants parents to be aware of signs that a teen may be considering self-harm or su***de.

They may: say things about not wanting to be alive, or indicating self-harm; have changed sleeping and eating habits; withdraw from activities they used to like; have trouble with daily functions; give away belongings; act out or run away.
