My name is Amy Nichols, the owner of Shades Body Studio & More and Skilled Touch Massage, LLC. I am also a full time Egg & Meat Demand Manager at Organic Valley. Family is and will always be my number one priority and that includes my Shades family. I enjoy getting to know every person that I meet. I have many goals and I never stop trying to achieve them; this, you can see in the work I have accomplished.
Amy’s first love was hair. Hair was her form of art; a beautiful way to express herself, something she picked up from her mom’s friend, Sherri. Amy thought of Sherri like a second mom. Sherri was a hairdresser and had three boys so she enjoyed helping Amy and her sisters with their hair and fashion. Amy graduated from Southwest Technical College with a degree in Cosmetology in August of 1994. After she graduated, she worked for the top salon in Boscobel for four years. From there, she moved to Sparta to work in the corporate world. For nine years she worked at a staffing agency and three years at Verizon. She currently works for Organic Valley. It is easy to see that Amy is very service oriented.
Amy’s father was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. This disease affected his body so much that it was rigid to the point that he could not stand up straight. His knees were always bent and his hands always clenched. Within a half an hour of his first massage, the massage therapist had him sound asleep lying flat on his back. It was this that made Amy decide she needed to help other people experience this miracle. She graduated from Western Technical College as a Licensed Massage Therapist in April of 2014 which was followed by the passing of her dad on May 10th of that same year.
From Amy’s degrees, it is clear that well-being, self-care, and helping others is important to her so it was no surprise when she decided to purchase Shades Body Studio & More. Shades is a great promoter of these things and so much more. It is also a great location for Amy’s massage business, Skilled Touch Massage, LLC. From here, she can be a business guide to other women; like her amazing employees and the fantastic women who rent spaces inside Shades.
