A change in the class schedule for August...
Monday at 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Dropping the Friday afternoon class for now and will see how this change in schedule goes.

The classes are all a gentle flow sequencing and are an hour long. The room is not heated. Hope to see you in class.

Well, I had good intentions on posting regularly but, man, does time fly. So I’m aiming for sporadic posts on yoga tips and treasures. Today, Mountain Pose...a simple yet extremely important posture. To stand in balance, in precise alignment,and keen awareness can bring immeasurable benefits. Start barefooted if possible with your feet together or hip width apart. Begin to distribute the weight equally over the heels and toes, outer and inner edges of the feet by slightly shifting forward and backward and side to side. Settle into the center. Now, begin to move up the body one section at a time aligning the major joints...knees over the ankles, hips over the knees, shoulders above the hips, and the head staked above them all. Take your time moving up the body noticing subtle sensations in alignment. Keep your arms beside the body relaxed and soften the muscles in the face. Breathing through the nose, begin to fill up your lungs slowly and empty them slowly for 1 minute or more if you have the time. Continuously scane the body to keep alignment, balance, and awareness intact. This is not rocket science so,try not to judge or force this posture. Standing throughout your day can now be a yoga practice in itself and can heighten your awareness of any habits you need to change. As you begin your journey with Mountain Pose, know that your body and your mind are different each day, some days may feel off balance while other days you’re feel like a majestic mountain...it’s all good. Today I would like to start sharing bits of my yoga experience with whoever is interested. It may be a simple pose you can do anywhere; a suggestion on breath awareness; something you can easily apply in your daily life. So for today, I would like to share with you an important thing I have learned…
Allow yourself some quiet time during your busy day. Start with five minutes, turn off your phone, TV, any distractions and just sit in stillness. Enjoy feeling your breath. That’s all you have to do. Once a day every day and see what happens.
A weekly post is my goal. If you have any suggestions I’m willing to read them. Thanks for tuning in… Namaste

Thinking about starting a yoga practice? Perfect timing....Sparta Yoga is back open and offering 3 classes a week : Monday and Wednesday at 8:30 in the morning & Friday at 5:30 in the afternoon. Each class is an hour long and designed for beginners and intermediates. Class are limited to 3 students for safe distancing practices and a mask is required before entering the yoga room. Please feel free to contact me through Messenger or email caterpots@msn.com for questions and reserving a class. These are stressful times so take an hour for yourself to gain strength, balance, flexibility and more.

Our Tuesday and Thursday 5:15 pm classes are customized to who attends...a one hour gentle yoga or perhaps something a bit more challenging. After class you will feel rejuvenated and re-energized. Classes are $10 / class or 5 classes for $40.
