Better Beginnings, Inc. Pediatric Therapy & Early Intervention Services In 2006, Better Beginnings was established as a pediatric therapy practice. We're on a mission to provide quality OT, PT and ST to "better" lives of others

We believe in Play With A Purpose! Better Beginnings is a private practice offering occupational, physical and speech-language therapy services in the child's natural environment until age 3. We also have a clinic setting to broaden the services available to your child. Sally Lloyd is an Occupational Therapist and the owner of Better Beginnings. She began serving children in the natural environment in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties in 1998. The clinic opened in 2008 to expand the services offered, in an ongoing effort to provide the best possible service

I’m watching the snow from inside!! We would love to see your snow pictures!! Please drop them in comments. Therapists I’m looking at yall too! We have lots of babies that this will be their first snow! The ice last week doesn’t count. 😂

One of the exercises to integrate this reflex is SNOW ANGLES!! If your therapist has said that your child had this retained reflex get outside and make those angles!! Show us your pictures!!

Spinal Galant Reflex

WHAT AN UNINTEGRATED SPINAL GALANT REFLEX LOOKS LIKE
Because the Spinal Galant is directly related to the vestibular system and consists of a physical reaction, it directly impacts movement, balance, muscle tone, and coordination. As stated earlier, it also facilitates urination when stimulated.
Symptoms related to an unintegrated Spinal Galant in older children are:
• Excessive fidgeting
• Bedwetting beyond the age of 5 years
• Hypersensitivity to clothing and tactile input
• Challenges with sustained attention
• Potential for scoliosis and poor posture
• If retained on one side more than the other, it can affect:
• Motor skills such as rolling and crawling
• Gait / walking patterns
• Dyslexia
