Happy Friday friends!

Our residents have taken on a new challenge-Cribbage!

Today started the lessons, the game table has been full of excitement, strategy, and plenty of laughs. We love seeing everyone try something new together!

We’d love to invite our neighbors in the surrounding communities to join us and share in the fun—come play a game, teach a tip, or just enjoy the company!

For the month of December, we will be playing every Friday at 2PM in The Peaceful Pines Pub!

🧠 Memory Care Tid-Bit 🧠

🎵 Music is a uniquely rich stimulus! Listening to music produces coordinated activity across auditory, motor, emotional, and memory systems in the brain. For example, music:

✨ Helps synchronize neuron firing that improves timing, coordination, and connectivity
✨ Stimulates dopamine production, which supports learning and plasticity of the brain
✨ Lowers stress hormones like cortisol
✨ Encourages the body to engage in light movement like tapping and singing

Keep music in mind to help with you care for those with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia – the benefits are astoundingly positive! 💪🎵

Yesterday we celebrated our Residents their Family Members with an early Thanksgiving Lunch! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and pie! Oh my!! It was DELICIOUS! 🦃🥧

Staff was hands on deck! We served over 110 people in our Dining room! A wonderful gathering for all. ❤️

Festival of Trees and Senior Tea with this fabulous group of ladies this afternoon! We had to get a picture in front of our tree that will be up for auction tomorrow night! So many beautiful trees to see!

Our first-ever Leadership Retreat in Oacoma, South Dakota, brought together our incredible Executive Directors and Directors of Nursing for a week filled with learning, laughter, and connection.

Hosted by the iconic Al's Oasis, our theme, “Howdy, Partners!” perfectly captured the spirit of teamwork and South Dakota pride. From unveiling our new Mission, Vision, and Values to training on crucial conversations and welcoming new onboarding tools, this retreat was all about growth, gratitude, and celebrating the people who make Peaceful Pines feel like home.
