2025 Wrap-Up and 2026 Sneak Peek!
As we fly through January focusing on new goals in the new year, it’s important to notice where we’ve been!
💪 Early 2025 was very busy with three part-time therapists, a sub-leasor, and admin support. Just as I started getting used to my new role as both a supervisor and clinician, new jobs and family opportunities ultimately led the team members in different directions. However, our numbers show we still had the pleasure of serving hundreds of clients in the Black Hills and surrounding areas.
🌈 We also celebrated our community with our free family Sensory Playtime in October and monthly Grow Together Yoga (GROWGA) classes. In April, we had a huge party with Bricks Bots and Beakers and Autism Society of the Black Hills and several other community organizations to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month!
☀️ The summer was full of excitement as we partnered with Origin Forest Bathing to offer camp roOT 🌱, a nature-based, neuro-affirming day camp that combines authentic friendship-building activities, sensory exploration and mindfulness!
🛍️ Our retail line, Whole Brain Toys made pop-up appearances at the Matthews Opera House Festival in the Park, Spearfish Watershed Festival, and Henry’s Books!
🤓 Carly carved out her Fridays to advance her certification as a Proficient DIRFloortime® Provider and continues to take courses in a variety of specialties.
🧘♀️ Speaking of learning, Whole Child Wellness is slowly navigating the preliminary steps to try to obtain research support for our trauma-informed yoga with the residents at Canyon Hills.
🎁 Finally, we love giving back! In November we supported Feeding South Dakota and are excited to be a donor to the Henry’s Book Foundation for the Spearfish Mini Read! Happening Now!
🏡 The biggest news is that our location is changing! We are sad to let go of our beautiful sunny location on Jackson but apparently the universe had a different plan. 🙃 We are in the process of moving the clinic to a very cozy, yet, VERY tiny office as we navigate our next steps! The new location, starting in March, is 211 N. Main #102 in Spearfish. Home visits also available!
