The Spencer ADA Council’s Universal Design Series, celebrating 35 years of progress under the Americans with Disabilities Act — will be conducted in four sessions at four different locations in Spencer, Monday, Oct. 27. One of the most influential pieces of legislation to come out of Iowa, These sessions are about more than rules and regulations, they center around good design, good business and good community planning.
“Universal Design is about more than ramps and measurements — it’s about dignity, practicality, and caring for our neighbors,” said Molly Wuebker, OTR/L, ODT, ADAC. “Sharing this message here in Spencer means a lot to me personally. I grew up here. This community taught me what it means to work hard, look out for one another, and take pride in what we build. Those same values are what the ADA represents — fairness, opportunity, and a belief that everyone should have a chance to take part in daily life.
