I’ve gotten to do some pretty cool things in my 20 years as a massage therapist but yesterday without a doubt was one of the best days of my career. Yesterday my colleague Casey and I were invited to be a part of the medical team providing care for the monks on their Walk For Peace. I don’t think I can properly put into words how I feel about the whole experience. When I got the call on Saturday from their medical coordinator asking me if I was available for massages it was like a dream come true but also surreal. I’ve been following the monks journey from almost the beginning. What they were doing touched a place deep in my heart and to be able to provide comfort for individuals who are doing something so monumental is an honor that I will carry with me the rest of my days. I was thrilled when I heard the monks would be traveling right past my office but never in a 100 years would I have guessed that I would get the privilege of being a part of that story.
These men and women (yes I got to work on a buddhist nun ❤️) are amazing. When they entered the church after walking for 12 hours you would expect to see the fatigue written all over them but that was not the case. Their faces were bright and smiling , and they carried a positive lighthearted energy around them. You can see just how deep their dedication to this cause runs for them.
My heart is overflowing with joy by this experience. I will carry it with me for the rest of my days. I am so honored. May all beings be well, happy and at peace. ❤️☮️
