Today was my youngest’s birthday 🥳🎈

Our kids always get to choose the kind of cake they want, and this year he asked for an ice cream cake 🍦🎂

I’m so glad I added one to my Walmart pickup before the snowstorm hit ❄️—and I also made sure to grab a safe version for myself so I could truly celebrate with him.

Having something safe to eat during moments like this makes such a difference 💙 I don’t feel left out, and while I may still dream about ice cream cake 😅, I enjoyed a delicious, safe treat and got to fully share in the celebration 🎉✨

I love a good snow ❄️, but when the cold and ice linger and routines shift, it can feel heavy—both mentally and physically. Having safe foods stocked and a plan in place helps bring peace of mind 🛒💙, even if meals start to feel repetitive.

Preparation builds confidence and reminds us of our resilience 💪✨—even on the days it’s frustrating not being able to eat whatever we want. This season will pass, routines will return, and warmer days are ahead 🌤️💛

Even with a major snowstorm on the way ❄️🌨️, ticks don’t always take the winter off—especially in moderate climates. 🕷️➡️❄️

They can survive colder months, burrowing down in leaves, so it’s still important to stay mindful and do regular tick checks after spending time outdoors. A quick check can make a big difference! ❤️✔️

Not every tick bite = Alpha-Gal 🕷️❌
 Because apparently your genetics 🧬, immune system 🛡️, how often you’re bitten, and what’s in the tick’s saliva all have opinions.

Same tick. Same woods. Different immune systems choosing chaos differently 😅

Most U.S. cases come from the Lone Star tick ⭐️
 Why some bodies make alpha-gal antibodies and others don’t?✨ Science is still shrugging ✨

Moral of the story: ticks are unpredictable, immune systems are dramatic, and prevention is the real superhero move 🦸‍♀️

Some recipes passed down for generations may need to be skipped or rewritten — and that can be more emotional than expected. But sometimes that’s how new traditions are born, carrying the same love, just in a different way. 🤍🍽️✨
