Hey yall!! 👋

Just a heads up I (Dr. Leija) will be taking a much needed vacation at the end of May and will be out through the first week of June. ☺️

Happy Eclipse day!! Remember to wear your special Eclipse glasses to view it so you don't TOTALITY burn holes in your retinas!

We are closing up shop early to enjoy the eclipse. Dropped off some of our extra eclipse glasses so yall can enjoy some wine and pizza too! 🍕 🍷🌔

Hoppy Easter 🐣 🐰 from us at BC Eyefitters!

We are closing early today. Tomorrow we will be closed for Good Friday but we will be back to normal hours on Monday morning!

If anything urgent comes up over the weekend please call and leave a voice-mail or text at 512-744-6274 📱

Things that could be an urgent eye issue this weekend:

1. Ocular Blunt force trauma (get hit by Easter egg on the eye)
2. Ocular Foreign body (confetti gets stuck in your eye)
3. Corneal Abrasion (a piece of cascaron/confetti egg got in your eye and scratched it)
4. Anything causing pain or discomfort to your eyes that may or may not be related to Easter eggs.
5. Any sudden vision loss or vision changes.

Hopefully, everyone has a safe and fun Easter! But if any of the above occurs, feel free to contact us! We'll take care of you!

Common question asked: Do I need vision insurance to have my eyes checked?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: We accept a limited number of vision plans including VSP and Eyemed. If we are out of your network or you don't have vision insurance that doesn't necessarily mean you can't see us.

For cash pay patients our comprehensive exam is $155 which includes your glasses rx, a complete evaluation of your eye health and a retinal screening photo.

Out of network? We can provide you a fee bill that you can submit directly to your plan for reimbursement.

If you have health insurance (ie BCBS, Aetna), you may actually have a covered routine eye exam available. Just call us with your insurance information and we can help!

So excited to have our practice spotlighted! We've been working hard to keep a good selection of eyewear for all of our patients no matter their budget. Working with Twelve84 we are able to provide our patients with a variety of frame styles, colors, and sizes.

Managing the optical has been one of the steepest learning curves of owning a practice. We're not always going to have the perfect frame for every patient but Twelve84 gets us one step closer to that goal.
