The governor did announce that dental offices can open for elective procedures, but stated that we must follow the guidelines that are established by the Boards of Dentistry in Iowa and Minnesota. They both require adequate and sustainable supply of PPE. There is a shortage of PPE because it is going to the hospitals and medical centers who are treating Covid patients. As a result, some people are not open, some are seeing only emergencies and some are doing elective procedures. We are working on getting our PPE's but it is difficult to find suppliers who have the required products.
We are also making some changes in the office to make it a safe environment for our patients and staff. We can't start scheduling until we know when we can actually see patients, so please be patient. If you have a broken wire or bracket, you can cut the wire with a fingernail clipper or small wire cutter and remove what ever you need to be comfortable.
If you need aligners, replacement retainers, questions, please email me at drcraignewell@qwestoffice.net
Stay safe!

We are presently closed due to the mandates issued by the Minnesota and Iowa Boards of Dentistry. This is primarily due to lack of PPE for dental offices which have been restricted to hospital and clinical use. As soon as we can start seeing patients in our office, we will be contacting our patients to schedule appointments.
At that time, we will explain our office protocol which will be much different than before due to the Covid-19 virus. If you have questions or concerns, please email Dr. Newell at drcraignewell@qwestoffice.net.
Thank you for your patience, and please stay safe!
Dr. Newell

The Minnesota Board of Dentistry has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation and has issued guidance as it becomes available. We greatly appreciate the commitment of dental professionals to treat patients and provide continuity of care at this time. However, given the emerging information in the last few days, we recommend that dental clinics postpone any non-emergent or elective dental care for two weeks starting on March 17, 2020.

On April 27, 2020, Governor Reynolds extended the mandate regarding non-essential dental services. The Proclamation is now scheduled to expire on May 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. If the proclamation expires as scheduled, this means routine patient care can resume on May 16, 2020.
