Specialties include GI disorders and nutrition and mental health. I combine tenets of mental health counseling and integrative and functional nutrition approaches in my practice. This differs from conventional nutrition and dietetics, which focus on standard recommendations for the general public; e.g. caloric intake based on specific weight standards. As an integrative and functional nutritionist, I consider each person's unique biochemistry, genetics, and physiology to discover the root of imbalance. For example, I may suggest lab tests or a comprehensive GI panel to identify possible issues. I emphasize overall health, and not just weight loss, with a focus on food as medicine, and supplements where needed. I am also interested in how food affects mental health and how mental health affects digestion. The two are surprisingly connected in what is called the gut-brain connection. My goal is to help you feel your best, bringing into balance body, mind and spirit. Additionally, I'm currently in a supervision program which will prepare me for becoming a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). As a part of this, client information will be shared with a supervisor for the purposes of training and education, though will not be shared with anyone else, as all client information is secured under HIPPA and Privacy Act regulations. All prices are discounted due to my internship status :)
Looking forward to connecting with you! In Health and Wellness,
